The 2025 Cadillac XT4 follows the refreshed 2024 model year with only a handful of updates and changes. Among these changes are revisions to the safety features list. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2025 Cadillac XT4 will drop two important safety options.
According to GM Authority sources, the Cadillac XT4 will drop Automatic Speed Limit Assist (RPO code ISA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (RPO code UVX) heading into the 2025 model year. Both safety features were included and only available as part of the Active Safety Package (RPO code AS2) for the 2024 model year, which was a $1,825 option available for the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels.
Looking ahead, the Active Safety Package will be included as standard across the lineup for the 2025 model year. However, Automatic Speed Limit Assist and Traffic Sign Recognition will not be included as part of the package.
That said, the Active Safety Package does include several other items, such as Enhanced Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning (RPO code UKM), HD Surround Vision (RPO code UXP), Rear Pedestrian Alert (RPO code UKK), Side Bicyclist Alert (RPO code UOW), and more.
It’s also worth noting that the XT4 Luxury will be deleted for the 2025 model year. As a result, the Premium Luxury will take the spot as the entry-level trim.
Under the hood, the 2025 Cadillac XT4 is equipped with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, delivering 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a GM nine-speed automatic transmission, while both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations are available. Under the skin, the XT4 rides on the GM E2 platform.
Production of the 2025 Cadillac XT4 is currently scheduled to begin on July 26th at the GM Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas City. However, as GM Authority previously covered, XT4 production will be paused for much of the 2025 calendar year as GM retools the Fairfax facility to produce the all-electric Chevy Bolt EV.

Any idea why? Do these features require additional hardware? Surely it’s not because they don’t work.
No it’s just to save a few pennies while charging the customers more. Bidenomics at work.
No extra cost to the customer for the changes. In fact a 2025 model XT4. Is cheaper than the 2024 XT4.
We love our new 2024 XT4 as it’s a very well-built, fun-to-drive vehicle. However, my lone disappointment is the Traffic Sign Recognition feature it has as part of the Active Safety Package we ordered. The TSR feature is highly unreliable as it frequently confuses road signs for speed limit signs. For example, we live close to County Road 15 where the speed limit is 55 mph. The TSR software always reads the CR 15 sign as a speed limit sign even though there is nothing other than a road number on this sign. This is a common problem and one that happens on several roads in our area. I often drive a Ford Escape for my work vehicle and it has TSR that is typically 90 to 95% accurate. The TSR software on our XT4 is typically around 50% accurate.
