2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ Gets Cadillac Arrival Mode Diagonal Drive Functionality

Officially unveiled almost a year ago, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ will represent a new take on the venerable Escalade nameplate due to its all-electric drivetrain. As a result of its GM BT1 platform underpinnings, the Escalade IQ will share many features with other GM products based on the same architecture, and now, it appears as though the electric luxury SUV will boast the new Cadillac Arrival Mode.

Equivalent to the Crabwalk feature seen on the GMC Sierra EV and GMC Hummer EV, the Cadillac Arrival Mode allows for diagonal-drive functionality at low speeds. In regard to availability, the mind-twisting feature will be standard on all trim levels of the Escalade IQ, including Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2, and Sport 2.

The Escalade IQ’s standard four-wheel steering system also helps reduce the SUV’s turning radius, as its rear wheels are able to rotate in the opposite direction as the front ones, facilitating parking maneuvers.

In other 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ-related developments, the all-electric luxury SUV will be offered with the Executive Second Row Seating Package (RPO code ABV). Available on Luxury 2 and Sport 2 trim levels, this package includes the following (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

  • Rear Command Center
  • Second-row captain’s chairs (AL4)
  • Second-row ventilated seats (KUF)
  • Heated second-row cushion and seat backs with dual-mode switches (KCF)
  • Six-way power second-row seat adjuster (ACS)
  • Four-way power lumbar second-row seat adjuster (B1X)
  • Four-way power bolster second-row seat adjuster (AHX)
  • 10-point power massage second-row seat adjuster (AJV)
  • Second-row dual wireless charging (K7D)
  • Second-row floor console with stowable tray tables (DK1)

It’s worth noting that the Executive Second Row Seating Package also requires opting for the $1,995 Rear Seat Entertainment system (RPO code UW9) beforehand.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Escalade IQ will produce up to 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque thanks to its dual GM Ultium Drive electric motors and 24-module, 200 kWh GM Ultium battery pack. These output figures are good for a 0-60 mph sprint in less than five seconds.

Additional noteworthy bits and bobs include 24-inch wheels, an Adaptive Air Ride suspension setup and Magnetic Ride Control 4.0.

As previously mentioned, the GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production is currently scheduled to get under way at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan on October 7th, 2024. Pricing starts at $129,990.
