Featuring a new front fascia with vertical lighting signatures, three new exterior colors, an updated interior headlined by a 33-inch LED touchscreen display, and several other changes, the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5-V was originally scheduled to start production on Monday, July 15th, 2024.
Now, GM Authority has learned, start of regular production (SORP) for the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V has been slightly postponed, pushed back by a week from its previous date.
Specifically, the latest information indicates the 2025Â Cadillac CT5-V will begin rolling off the assembly line on Monday, July 22nd, 2024 instead. This date also remains tentative and subject to change until production actually begins. Notably, the high-performance 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing variant of Caddy’s sporty luxury sedan, originally also slated for a July 15th SORP, will now begin production at an even later date.
The non-V-Series 2025 Cadillac CT5 sedan also had its production start delayed several times, though its manufacture is now under way. The model was originally meant to start rolling off the assembly line on April 2nd, 2024, but this was postponed until April 24th, and finally again to May 6th, 2024.
In a previously issued video, General Motors pulled the sheets on the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing back in January of this year. The mid-cycle refresh of the CT5-V includes new lighting as noted, plus aero effects, intakes, and front fenders. The sedan now gets standard GM Super Cruise driver assist technology.
Pricing for the 2025 CT5-V is $5,500 higher than for the 2024 model year of the sedan, as GM Authority uncovered earlier. The vehicle carries a starting MSRP of $58,390 when configured with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and $60,390 in its all-wheel drive (AWD) variant. Both these prices are inclusive of a destination freight charge set at $1,395.
Motivation is supplied by the same powerplant as was offered on the previous year, the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine developing 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Two drivetrains, RWD and AWD, are offered, with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission sending power to the pavement and Performance Traction Management, Launch Control, Magnetic Ride Control and an electronic limited-slip differential all equipped as standard.
The sports sedan rides on the GM Alpha 2 platform, while production will continue to take place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan once it kicks off.
