1968 Chevy Camaro Among Classic Cars Stolen In Trailer Theft: Video

Law enforcement in Brooklyn are currently investigating the theft of three vintage cars stolen late last month. The stolen vehicles include a 1968 Chevy Camaro, a 1955 Chrysler Imperial convertible, and a 1966 Ford Mustang. All three vehicles were stolen simultaneously after thieves managed to tow away a pickup truck that was hitched up to a trailer with the three vehicles loaded in back.

Thieves attach a trailer to a white SUV while stealing three vintage cars, including a 1968 Chevy Camaro.

According to a report from NBC 4 New York, the theft occurred around 4 a.m. local time on June 25th. The cars were last seen on Atlantic Avenue, near Berryman Street, in East New York. NYPD released a video showing two masked individuals in a white SUV towing the pickup truck, plus the trailer loaded with the classic cars in the rear, including the Chevy Camaro. The suspects apparently managed to hook up their SUV to the Dodge pickup truck before driving away with the entire trailer loaded with the valuable cars. Due to the high value of the vintage vehicles, some speculate that the vehicles may be shipped overseas.

According to locals, the pickup truck and trailer were a common sight in the area, and were usually parked in the same spot on the corner of Atlantic Avenue.

The NYPD is now actively trying to track down the two masked thieves. According to the report, there has been an overall decrease in grand larceny auto crimes across New York City, dropping 10.2 percent compared to last year. However, in the 75th precinct, where the theft occurred, there has been an 11.4-percent increase. One local, who had his truck stolen in a separate incident, said that thieves are constantly scouting the local neighborhoods for valuable targets.

The photos released by the NYPD show the suspects dressed in all black during the theft. Police urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

  1. In my view, there is a special place in hell for car thieves.

  2. So, was the truck parked in neutral? did they drop the drive shaft? Lock the wheels, turned all way right or left next time. How did they get that to tow straight by towing with a rope?

  3. ☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽 #THIS! I almost thought I saw the trailer brake lamps come on right before it left the frame.

…and WHY in 2024 are street/surveillance cameras still so horrible? No one can make out who those people are from that.
