We Render A Chevy Traverse Coupe

The 2024 Chevy Traverse made its formal introduction last July, debuting the crossover’s latest third generation. Among the list of updates is new exterior styling, with the 2024 Traverse adopting a more aggressive, truck-like design compared to the preceding second-gen model. Now, GM Authority is digging its hands into the 2024 Chevy Traverse to create the following crossover coupe variant.

A GM Authority rendering of a Chevy Traverse crossover coupe.

While GM has no known plans to actually produce a new Chevy Traverse crossover coupe, we went ahead and rendered one just to see what it might look like.

For readers who may be unaware, the crossover coupe body style gives otherwise utilitarian-looking models a splash of sportiness, lowering the roofline in the rear and making the silhouette less boxy. The crossover coupe body style was initially popularized by the German automakers, but the look has since expanded to a variety of different models. One example from GM would be the Buick Envista, although the Cadillac brand is notably absent from the crossover coupe segment. Overall, crossover coupe variants are believed to attract younger buyers, and could widen the market for some vehicles – including the Chevy Traverse.

Either way, we went ahead and rendered this Chevy Traverse crossover coupe. Obviously, the biggest changes can be found in the rear where we chopped down the back half of the vehicle, all while smoothing the rear glass down into the hatch at a steeper angle. We also extended the shark-fin-style C-pillar to match the curves in the new rear glass, thus creating a more cohesive look. The rest of the vehicle is more or less identical to the standard configuration.

Overall, the new look seems to work well with the taillight housings, which stretch into the rear fenders just underneath the new glass. That said, we want to know what you think of our Chevy Traverse crossover coupe rendering, so let us know by posting in the comments below!

  4. Guys, cmon, this is not a coupe. Stop trying to tell us a vehicle with 4 doors is a coupe!

  5. Please put that back where wherever you got it from.

  6. Please stop doing these…chopping and angling the rear end of every SUV in the lineup is getting old already.

The best coupe-like SUV/CUVs are designed that way from the start. And even some of those are ugly.

  8. Awful. A plain and inoffensive vehicle made gaudy and ugly.

  9. Definitely not a coupe, with the 4-door configuration.

A closer (and MUCH better looking) SUV coupe body style would be the 2-door full-size Chevy Blazer line-up offered in the late 1990’s – although that vehicle was truck-based and not a “crossover”

  10. sorry to be bearers of bad news but sad to say its best GM bring back the compact/midsize Jimmy/Blazer 3 door SUVs instead this would be the next Pontiac Aztec and the Honda Accord Cross tour and Mazda 6 sport hatch which was ugly and discontinued

  11. Stop it! It’s not an BMW X4, it doesn’t work. I’m impressed by the new 3rd generation Traverse. I owned a 2011 and enjoyed it for over ten trouble free years. When the first generation came out GM was playing with the platform as a crew cab, short bed pickup which would be more fuel efficient than a traditional pickup. It would be more practical if SUV’s had a pop up glass on the tailgate for longer items without leaving the tailgate up. Suburban and Tahoes use to have that feature. The folding right front passenger seat is also handy for longer loads, my HHR used to have that feature. More versatility, not more weird styling variations.
