These days, the gap between race cars and street cars is practically non-existent, at least from a straight-line performance perspective. Without any restrictions or balance-of-power regulations, the latest and greatest high-end performance cars now bring the sort of mind-bending speed capabilities normally associated with dedicated racing machines. This fact is on display to dramatic effect in the following drag racing video featuring the Cadillac V-Series.R.
The video, shared by the Hagerty YouTube channel, features a series of drag races between some of the fastest production supercars on the market, culminating in a race against the Cadillac V-Series.R Le Mans Prototype race car.
The video begins with a showdown between the Ferrari 296 GTB, McLaren 750S, and Porsche 911 Turbo S. Each of these vehicles, while street legal, boasts incredible speed and performance – the Ferrari 296 GTB, for example, runs a hybrid V6 with a twin-turbo 3.0L engine and electric motor, delivering a total of 818 horsepower. The McLaren 750S runs a twin-turbo 4.0L V8 engine producing 740 horsepower, but is nearly 400 pounds lighter than the Ferrari. Finally, the Porsche 911 Turbo S is motivated by a twin-turbo 3.7L flat-six, throwing down with 640 horsepower, all of which hits the ground thanks to the onboard all-wheel drive.
Meanwhile, the Cadillac V-Series.R weighs only 2,300 pounds and houses a potent four-cam, naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 engine, plus hybrid system that enhances fuel economy during extended stints on track.
The video features several drag races, showcasing the acceleration and speed of each car, starting with a three-way race between the street cars, followed by a head-to-head between the quickest of the street cars and the Cadillac Le Mans prototype. The results may surprise you, so watch the full video to see how these impressive machines stack up against one another:

Dear God I want that Cadillac.
Is that a Chevrolet smallblock design engine or a off-shoot of the old Northstar?
