The 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV stands out for its striking design, impressive tech, and crazy spec sheet. However, spec sheets leave one very important question unanswered – what’s it like to actually sit in the thing? Now, GM Authority is answering that question with the following in-depth video tour of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Edition 1 cabin.
Hosted by GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, the video is a little over 18 minutes long and covers all the important interior features and design characteristics. As we see in the video, the rugged and bold design of the GMC Hummer EV SUV cabin does well to complement the exterior, with tech features like a large, easy-to-read digital screen placed front and center. The display includes responsive touch controls, and there is a variety of driving modes selectable via a central dial.
The steering wheel stands out for its thick rim and spokes, ideal for a rugged vehicle. It also incorporates the Super Cruise indicator and sensor.
HVAC controls are centrally located, and temperature adjustments are made via a toggle and animated visual feedback. Although some functions are managed by touch, the seat heating and ventilation controls rely on physical buttons. Below these are controls for the heated steering wheel, traction control, Watts To Freedom mode, hazard lights, park assist, and automatic park assist.
The video highlights the top-shelf materials used throughout the interior, noting the soft, cushioned surfaces on the door panels and center console. The bronze trim and lunar topographical patterns add to the visual appeal. Functional elements include a wireless phone charger, USB-A and USB-C ports, and a well-constructed gear selector for drive modes.
Drive modes include My Mode, Off-Road, Terrain, Tow/Haul, and Normal, with engaging animations for each. The height-adjustable suspension is another highlight, controlled via buttons that offer various ride heights suitable for different terrains.
Moving to the rear, the video shows a spacious backseat area with similar design and functionality as the front, including seat heating controls, USB ports, and storage spaces. Remember, despite its size, the Hummer is a 2-row SUV. The removable roof panels provide an open-air experience without compromising NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) levels.

That bronze is fugly.
I love everything about it except for the screens and the batteries. If that were a real truck with a 6.6L Duramax in it there’d be one in my driveway. Actually, if they put an LT4 in it that would be super cool too. You could have a Hummer with a blower. Who wouldn’t want that!?
