Refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate In Onyx Black: Photos

GM Authority recently showed you the refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate in White Frost Tricoat as a prototype was caught testing without any camo. Now, our spies managed to catch another 2025 Yukon Denali Ultimate, but this time in black. Coated in the sinister Onyx Black (GBA) paint, this range-topper showcases several exterior updates that are in store for the refresh, which has yet to make its debut.

Starting with the front end, the GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate shows off a new grille in Vader Chrome, a finish that’s exclusive to GMC’s Denali Ultimate models. The grille features an intricate interlocking pattern, while the dark finish meshes nicely with the black paint. Redesigned headlights flank the grille, incorporating a new Daytime Running Light (DRL) signature teased by GMC earlier this year. Below, the revised bumper integrates new fog lights and combines body-color, black, and polished trim pieces.

The side profile features the 22-inch seven-spoke ultra-bright machined wheels with bright chrome accents and dark paint (RPO code SRM). The rims seem to carry over from the current, pre-refresh model and their technical design complements the black exterior. Further enhancing the profile are body-colored door handles, Denali badging on the doors, and polished trim around the windows. Also note the retractable running boards.

At the rear, GMC has repositioned the Denali badge to a more central location, ensuring it commands the attention it so deserves, while the C-shaped taillights retain their familiar design. Also note the revised rear bumper with a new exhaust treatment. In fact, this particular unit is wearing EPA exhaust tips.

Inside the cabin, the refreshed Yukon is expected to feature a 15-inch infotainment display and an 11-inch driver information screen, similar to the Sierra EV, 2024 GMC Acadia and 2025 GMC Terrain. The screen layout is expected to be identical between Denali and non-Denali trims, unlike the current, pre-refresh Yukon.

Under the hood, the refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon will continue to offer the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 and 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engines. A new addition is expected with the introduction of the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, which will replace the 3.0L I6 LM2 offered currently. In fact, the presence of the EPA predictive emission monitoring system (PEMS) system on this unit suggests that it’s likely equipped with the LZ0.

Production will continue to take place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas, while the GM T1 platform will once again provide the underpinnings. GM also plans to offer the Yukon nameplate in new international markets, including Australia, New Zealand, and China.

  3. Hopefully they get rid of the FUGLY brown seats that they use in the pickups.

  4. I absolutely hate the look of vertical screen layouts. The pre-refresh looks so much more seamless, classy, & integrated.

  5. When will it be available at the dealership?

  6. Once again, vader chrome on the grille only, and none of the other chrome bits, ESPECIALLY the lower front chrome piece, is Vader chrome to match. REALLY?!?!?

  7. Whoever designed the entertainment screen in the Yukon should be fired. They should have put a horizontal screen connected to the instrument cluster. That would have looked 100% better than the vertical screen that they are using. That would have made a screen about 28 inches. Would have looked very. Not what you are doing. Will not get my vote.

  8. I’m not a fan of Vader Chrome. Both, the screen and tail pipes are HIDEOUS! Thank God I bought a 24 Denali.
