Just one model year removed from the arrival of an all-new generation, the 2025 GMC Acadia is expected to introduce just minor updates and changes for the fresh model year. With that in mind, it currently appears as though production of the 2025 Acadia is scheduled to commence later this year.
GM Authority has learned that the start of regular production (SORP) of the 2025 GMC Acadia is currently scheduled for October 14th, 2024. Of course, this date is tentative in nature and subject to change at any time.
As a reminder, the 2024 GMC Acadia stands as the first model year of the Big Red brand crossover’s third-generation, and is highlighted by upgrades to the exterior styling, interior appointments, and powertrain. Starting with the physical stature of the crossover itself, the 2024 Acadia now boasts an 8.4-inch wheelbase stretch, a 10.6-inch increase in overall length, and another 3.2 inches of extra height, making it longer, wider and taller than the 2023 Acadia, all of which contributes to a larger cabin space.
Moving inside, a 15-inch infotainment screen is paired with a standard 11-inch diagonal driver information center, along with additional bits like Google built-in, Following Distance Indicator, available GM Super Cruise, nine available camera views, Forward Collision Alert, and Rear Park Assist, among others.
As GM Authority was first to report, the 2024 Acadia is powered by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the GM eight-speed automatic transmission directs said output to either a FWD or AWD drivetrain configuration.
Under the skin lies the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform, which now incorporates goodies like the GM Global B electrical architecture. Production of the Acadia moved to the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan starting with the 2024 model and kicked off back in March 2023.
For those who want a close-up look at the 2024 GMC Acadia, GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft recently gave a detailed interior and exterior tour of the next-gen crossover.

Please GMC, reconsider adding as an option a six cylinder engine for the 2025 Acadia! I would buy one in a heartbeat!!
why the eight speed tranny? I thought 9 speed was newer and better? Is this the old 8 speed they had problems with?
The 4 cylinder engine cost you a sale yesterday. On my test drive the high pitch whine of the turbo drove me crazy. Sounds like a cheap remote control toy. The vehicle is just what I wanted otherwise.
The 4 cylinder engine is way too small for this car period. I could never buy one for this reason alone.
The four cylinder engine is a deal breaker. At this price point, especially with the Denali, there should be an option for a six cylinder. I am in the market to trade out of my 2021 Acadia Denali but it will definately not be for a four cylinder of any type. I will be looking at something other than GMC this time around. It is a shame because I love the body style and interior of the Acadia.
I am very disappointed with GMC, when it selected a four cylinder for the Acadia. As of now, I am thinking of buyng aother GMC Acadia, but the four cylinder just isn’t the answer for me. I think the CAFE rule can be met with an engine that doesn’t work so hard, maybe a six cylinder or a small V8. I am driving a 1500 Sierra that gets about the same milage and it doesn’t work to get it moving, that engine would have been a possible alternative, So, General Motors, what were you thinking? I have been driving GM vehiles for many years, and still have one, but the future is in question. Thank You…if anyone ever sees this?
