Here’s When 2025 Cadillac Escalade Production Is Scheduled To Start

A mid-cycle refresh coming for the ICE 2025 Cadillac Escalade, which will benefit from exterior design enhancements, a reworked instrument panel and some newfound tech features, among other notable changes. Now, here’s when production of the updated 2025 Escalade and 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV will start.

GM Authority has learned that the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade and extended-length Escalade ESV is currently scheduled for October 7th, 2024. Coincidentally, it’s the exact same date planned for the production start of the fully electric 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ. We should point out that these dates are subject to change between now and then.

The current-generation Cadillac Escalade’s mid-cycle enhancement will introduce a revised front fascia incorporating the brand’s latest signature design cues, such as the slim Daytime Running Lamps doubling as turn signal indicators along the hoodline, while the headlamps will be vertically stacked on a lower section of the front fascia. Revised grilles with various trim-level coordinated finishes, in addition to a reshaped lower air intake round out the updates up front, while a new roof-mounted communications fin will allow the integration of 5G network connectivity.

The rear section features a clear-lens CHMSL mounted on the upper portion of the rear glass, a slimmer chrome strip below said glass, a chrome liftgate garnish and reshaped through-fascia exhaust outlets. For the first time, the options list will offer 24-inch wheels and tires.

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade’s interior will boast an all-new 55-inch, pillar-to-pillar panel incorporating the digital driver instrument cluster, the infotainment system touchscreen and the passenger-side entertainment screen, a setup also found in the Escalade IQ and the Cadillac Celestiq. The console-mounted shift lever will be replaced by a stalk-mounted arm incorporating the transmission selector, with the Park button located on the tip of the stalk. A new camera-to-phone steaming system should also be available.

The powertrain list will continue to feature the 6.2L V8 L87 engine as standard, developing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. However, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine will be dropped altogether in the 2025 Cadillac Escalade due to low demand. The 2025 Cadillac Escalade-V and Escalade-V ESV will keep their supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine with 682 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Both engines will once again be matched to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

Under the body, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV will continue riding on the GM T1 platform, which has been the case since the launch of the current generation model for the 2021 model year. The Escalade is built at the GM Arlington Assembly plant in Texas alongside the Chevy Tahoe, the Chevy Suburban and the GMC Yukon.

  1. I own a 23’…. I’d rather keep it than upgrade to this! This has an ugly front end imho. Whoever designed this refresh should be fired. The inside dash looks nice… but this is ugly in the front. It doesn’t meet the sides in a tasteful way. It’s just ewww!

    1. Agreed. The Tahoe refresh looks great but the Escalade and Yukon were not necessary (aside from the interiors).

  2. Darn Mary for eliminating the diesel.

  3. I agree whole heartedly! These manufacturers always think by changing the design means it’s going to be better. I disagree you have a winning design now why would you mess with that? How many more screens to you really need in a vehicle, people still like the feeling of real materials not just a bunch of tv’s like you are in Best Buy!

  4. If true that the diesel option not coming back, it gives GM an opportunity to introduce a powerful hybrid powertrain with a V8 small block with better performance than the standard 6.2 later on in the future.

  5. That’s smart for both to hit the lots at the same time. Caddy is making sure no one leaves without buying a Slade.

  6. I really liked the center console shifter. It just seemed sporty. Putting it back on the column feels so old school. I was planning on purchasing a new Escalade or Yukon Denali Ultimate this fall but I like what I like and for 100K+ I should be able to get it.
Always been a GM guy, but thinking of looking around. My 22 only has 7500 miles.. I don’t need to trade..

  8. The new front end is ATROCIOUS. It looks like it’s missing headlights.

  9. There goes my plan to order a new Escalade!!
It was going to be a diesel, but apparently they know more that I do about what I want!

  10. Oh no!! That guy who designed the Pontiac Aztec must still be on the payroll.

    1. Honestly the diesel is terrible, it has a wet oil pump belt at the rear of the engine so you have to rip the trans out every 100k to replace it and if you don’t and let that thing snap there’s going to be almost no chance that engine will be salvageable even if you run it for just a single minute without any oil flow because that’ll cause lots of damage to the rings and bearings and if you’re like me who bought this for the wife and not yourself the wife is just going to look at it for a second and ignore it and keep on driving whereas us men would see that and immediately pull over. On top of that the long-term economics of owning something with a DPF is nonsensical if this was a diesel engine that didn’t have DPF and was more traditionally designed I’d agree on buying it but those days are over. When I was buying my 2021 back in October of 2020 the dealer first called me about a diesel one that I could have bought because the prior person who looked at it didn’t want it because of that and I researched the diesel and I already knew it was going to be a bad engine long term so I opted for the 6.2. But honestly I wish I could have gotten this thing with a 5.3 to get slightly better fuel economy on the highway. I don’t care for the extra power.

      1. The pump belt issue only applies to the LM2 platform, which was used 2021-2023. The LZ0 platform has corrected that issue, and is the platform being currently used

  12. Not the best looking Escalade but not the worst either. I thought the current Escalade was a weird departure from the 2015 but I ended up liking it inside an out. Hopefully, this is the same

  13. I own an early 2021 which I bought in Oct 2020 so I got a lot out of it so I don’t feel bad it’s technically “old” already and yeah the interior on the updated one does look more futuristic, higher tech, and thus newer but why does the front end look ugly and much too busy.

The only detail about the front that I don’t dislike is the side marker on the wheel well and it’s not because it looks better but because it looks less ugly. I freaking hate how the wheel well edges and side marker look like on my 21. I just don’t like this partially recessed design I would have much preferred if the current gen Escalade had the prior model wheel well edge that’s just flat and looks a lot more tasteful and sophisticated but they did change the indicator so it looks a little bit less ugly but they still could have done more to make it look better. The front end looks ugly I was honestly hoping that the updated Escalade would look similar to the 2021 but have even longer daytime light bars at the front and full length turn signals in the rear which would look great. I also wished they would add illuminated badges which would look really nice in the dark.

  14. I work at a Cadillac dealership and from what I’ve seen lately. The Escalades are trash. Too many issues for the price . Even the V has many problems . They need to correct it all before moving forward. Not to mention the Lyric is a pain with its software issues .. battery overheating. Wishing the last 3 months .. several had the battery replaced already in a 2024 lyric .
