GM has issued a technical service bulletin for Buick Enclave units that make noise at the front end when the vehicle turns or drives over bumps. The bulletin outlines a potential cause and a solution for the problem.
Per Technical Service Bulletin 22-NA-239, front-end noise in Buick Enclave crossover SUVs from the 2020 through 2024 model years may be caused by a front strut spring rotating out of alignment until it rubs against the fender while turning or driving over bumpy surfaces.
To determine if this issue causes front-end noise under these conditions, dealerships are instructed to inspect the front strut spring to see if it is out of alignment and in contact with the fender. If the spring is in contact and the finish is worn off, it must be replaced entirely.
However, if the spring’s finish is not worn off, the issue can be corrected by scrubbing the spring’s isolator and the isolator spring seat with soap and water to remove the mold release agent, then reinstalling the front strut spring. Rotation is caused by the presence of the mold release agent in the spring seat and isolator.
Inspection requires about 10 minutes, and the fix, if necessary, about 90 minutes.
As a reminder, the 2024 Buick Enclave, the latest model year affected by the issue, is the final model year of the current second generation of the crossover and had an exceptionally short production run. Production of its successor, the 2025 Buick Enclave, which will launch the vehicle’s third generation, was pushed back somewhat to the end of June.
The vehicle is motivated by a single available powerplant: the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine developing 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional for all trim levels.
Under the body panels, the 2024 Enclave is underpinned by the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform. Production of the crossover and the upcoming 2025 model year takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

The Buick Enclave is the worst vehicle I’ve ever owned. I purchased it used. At 168,000 miles it needs a timing chain, front struts, the fourth set of brakes. Over 5000.00 of repairs. I have owned three previous Buicks and they ran great for over 200,000 miles. Several other Enclave owners I know have had the same issues with less miles. Buick won’t stand behind their products. There should be recalls for these problems.
We bought a used Enclave and It was doing fine. It was a great car, but one day I was driving it and it started smoking. I heard a loud noise and the car just stopped in the road. I had to get it pulled home. My husband looked at it and it had slong a rod. Now I need a motor. The rod cracked the block and came through it. I wish they had a recall on the motors. I need my car and the motors are so expensive.
