Chevy Drag Racer John Force Injured In Crash At Virginia Nationals: Video

In the game of raw speed and acceleration, the National Hot Rod Association’s (NHRA) drag racing series’ certainly takes the cake. Unfortunately, such extreme levels of performance have the potential to produce equal levels of catastrophe, as was almost the case with Chevy drag racer John Force.

Force, aged 75, was recently involved in an accident where his engine exploded after trapping 302.62 mph in the first round of the PlayNHRA Virginia Nationals. The Hall of Famer was then subjected to a wild ride that saw his car dart across the track and smash the left-side wall. From there, the car drifted back over to the right lane and tapped that wall as well.

Thankfully, Force was able to get out of his car and remained alert when talking with the Safety Safari workers before he was placed in an ambulance.

“My dad’s going to be all right,” Brittany Force proclaimed. “I was in the ambulance with him, holding his hand. And he’s one of the toughest people I know. So he’ll bounce back, like he always does. It’s something that’s tough. We know that’s a part of the drill. That’s how this sport goes. I wouldn’t be his daughter if I wasn’t back up here in that car, trying to win this thing with this team for him.”

It’s worth noting that as of the time of this writing, the extent of Force’s injuries is unknown.

“We’re race-car drivers, and we have to flip the switch,” John Force’s teammate Auston Prock explained. “You got ‘at-home Austin Prock,’ and you got ‘race-car driver Austin Prock.’ You got to flip the switch and get the job done. I know John wants us to be out here, going rounds. Maybe we can get him a Wally. He’s one tough son of a b***h, I know that. He’ll be back. It’s just tough to see somebody go through that. I hope he’s all right. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I know he’ll be back.”

The team here at GM Authority wishes nothing but the best for Mr. John Force during his recovery!
