Chevy Blazer Coupe Rendered As Two-Row Sportback

Introduced way back in 2018, the fifth-generation Chevy Blazer marked the return of the iconic Blazer nameplate after a nearly 15-year hiatus. While this two-row unibody crossover has been a strong offering since its debut, GM Authority wondered what the Blazer would look like as a “crossover coupe”. So, with that in mind, we rendered what our interpretation of a Chevy Blazer Coupe would resemble.

For those who may be unaware, the crossover coupe body style features a tall CUV body with a sloping rear roofline, which gives the vehicle more of a fastback-like profile. Luxury European automakers already offer a number of vehicles in the segment, including the BMW X4, the Sportback version of the Audi Q5, and variants of the Porsche Cayenne, to name just a few.

That being said, our rendering is based on the 2024 Chevy Blazer and incorporates a sloping rear end that adds a different flavor to the crossover’s styling. In fact, that redesigned back end gives the Blazer a shorter and smaller appearance, which may appeal to some prospective buyers.

Of course, this is a controversial styling choice among enthusiasts and purists who insist that anything called a “coupe” must have two doors. However, it’s been proven that there’s a sizable niche of folks who like the sportier look of crossovers with sloping, coupe-like rooflines, and they’re willing to pay more for it.

Outside of the luxury space, there aren’t many options in the crossover coupe segment besides GM’s own Buick Envista and the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. As such, there could potentially be room for more affordable alternatives to the pricey luxury crossover coupes in the form of something like a Chevy Blazer Coupe.

Interestingly, General Motors is behind the ball when it comes to the crossover coupe trend, particularly on the luxury side. While the aforementioned Envista does fill this niche, there’s a notable lack of Cadillac models to fill this role. While the two most obvious candidates for this “coupe-ification” would be the Cadillac XT4 and Cadillac XT5, there doesn’t appear to be any indication that this will happen anytime soon.

  1. Americans, thankfully, don’t have a taste for these absurd things, as the crazy Europeans do. Envista will never sell as well as Trax, pricing diffs aside, because of that. So, no, there isn’t room.

    1. Beachy I agree I don’t really see any reason for this when the regular Blazer already looks fast and low to ground for an CUV that is. on the bright side at least GM is not calling it Camaro!

      1. Blazer styling is good , don’t need another name or another suv, cuv , trax they all look similar , just the size. You want cheap , they already bring in vehicles in from overseas , with cheap labor and sell it for big profits. Quaker Oats , PepsiCo just left our area, guest where the moved it ? Vietnam !
Cheap isn’t always Cheap. Jobs lost , taxes lost everyone loses wether you see it or not.

  4. This is just stupid. You loose cargo area and it looks worse overall. There is literally no benefit. If they want to render something actually cool then they should do a Blazer SS. Too bad that segment died with the Trailblazer SS. That is the last truly awesome SUV that GM made. I own a Blazer and love it, but it is still just another boring SUV. It at least has somewhat sporty styling.

  5. ICE will be extinct before the 4 door coupe will ever come.

  6. Render something else. Your “auto rendering team” leaves a lot to be desired. How about rendering tree houses?

  7. Ford is killing it with the Mustang, Bronco and Maverick. Meanwhile at GM, “you know guys we really need a 58th cute ute variant.”

    1. Mark the Bronco in off road trim looks great but I don’t like the Bronco sport it cheap looking you shouldn’t have to cater to one or the other both should able to be nice looking. Why not call it Nomad but not this coupe looking think a more nomad look would be better with just two doors we need two door cars again everything is utility maybe the younger generation would like something sporty looking.

  8. Just because your taste and needs don’t match the next guys, doesn’t mean it won’t work. I was having surgery and needed an suv, but wanted something fun like my CT5-V. The Cayenne coupe was my best solution. I much rather buy a sporty Cadillac suv, but there isn’t one.

  9. I remember the 2nd gen 3-door S10 Blazers (and Jimmys) and how cool they were.

  10. Boy , you all sure are hard on Mr. Hawkins.
I like the reaction no matter what they are. That means to me Mr. Hawkins is doing a good job , lots are reading the article.
One is right on the affordable sporty vehicle.
But in my mind GM couldn’t sell the Numbers to keep working on the Camaro.
The rendering shows me a lack or rear storage area would be the concern of mine. Maybe enough college kids would be interested in a short wheelbase easy to park and low cost to maintain.
    I’ll pass.

  11. Build the blazer with the same body as the EV blazer. Forget this 4 dr coupe stuff, a coupe is a coupe and a coupe has 2 doors not 4 .

  12. Render it with a box on the back to compete with the Maverick.
