Although it officially debuted way back in July 2022, the Chevy Blazer SS has been notably absent from the Blazer EV‘s lineup. That being said, it now appears as though the high-performance all-electric crossover will finally launch for the upcoming model year with the 2025 Chevy Blazer EV.
Per previous GM Authority coverage, production of the 2025 Blazer EV kicked off a few days ago on June 3rd, 2024. However, only the LT AWD and RS AWD models will be built in the beginning of the 2025 model year, with production of the 2025 Blazer EV SS, RS RWD, LT FWD and RS FWD variants getting underway later on in the model year.
As a reminder, the Chevy Blazer EV SS will be the pinnacle of the all-electric crossover’s lineup, emphasizing performance. In fact, the range-topping model will develop 557 horsepower and 648 pound-feet of torque, sprint to 60 mph in less than four seconds, have a driving range of 290 miles on a full charge, and be underscored by a sport-tuned chassis and Brembo front brakes.
In regard to the Blazer EV RS RWD, this variant slots just below the SS model in the performance department and is capable of producing up to 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque.
In other 2025 Chevy Blazer EV-related developments, the all-electric crossover gains the Midnight / Sport Edition package (RPO code WJU) for the new model year yet loses the Red Hot (color code G7C) exterior paint color.
Furthermore, the 2LT equipment group has been renamed the Chevy Blazer EV 4LT. As such, the Convenience and Driver Confidence Package (RPO code WPN) and the Comfort and Convenience Package (RPO code ZFT) are no longer required as standard equipment.
Under the skin, the Blazer EV rides on the GM BEV3 platform – which it shares with the Cadillac Lyriq and Chevy Equinox EV – and is powered by GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technologies. Production takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

This is the only Blazer EV I was considering – and likely would have bought one had they not delayed its launch, but the late launch and no CarPlay killed it. If I decide to go EV, it’ll be anything other than a GM product.
Buying a performance variant of a model and not having CarPlay is a deal breaker makes me think you weren’t serious about considering the Blazer SS in the first place.
Impressive Horsepower and range. Nice looking as well. Yes, please!
Want to order a gas powered 2025 Blazer… but I cannot get answer on when they’re taking orders or when they’ll start building them.
Ordering started May 16th, building starts July 8th.
I don’t understand why marketing apparently cannot make up their minds with what a 1lt, 2lt, or 4lt is.
They’ve already goofed as to pricing .. seems like trim packages are still in flux.

Bill – Why are blaming Marketing? Do you have inside info? It could be Engineering, Mfg, Purchasing,Suppliers, etc.

I want this SS model already! AHHHHHHHH.
Checking GMA 2-4 times a DAY.
I need SS for the power, and I need the 2025 version because, supposedly, we’re supposed to be getting a NACS port
Not an EV fan, but this thing is very sweet and aggressive looking. Make an ICE variant of this with the twin turbo 3.6L V6 and I’d test drive it and maybe think about getting one.
If this had the CT4V Blackwing powertrain under the hood, i would consider buying it. As an EV, Not a chance. This should be the performance replacement of the Camaro since there’s nothing else that Chevy has that is remotely desirable.
No Carplay.?? WTH?!
When will we be able to order?
