2025 Cadillac XT5 Onyx Package Now Offered On Luxury Trim Level

Even as the 2025 Cadillac XT5 prepares to go into production earlier than anticipated starting on June 24th, 2024, the fate of the luxury crossover in North America remains unclear, with the release of a second generation of the model currently limited to China.

However, GM Authority has learned GM has expanded availability of the optional Onyx Package (RPO code PDB) to the base Luxury trim level, though a few details have not yet been made public.

The Onyx Package will continue to be offered on the Premium Luxury trim level of the 2025 Cadillac XT5 as well. However, it has been dropped from the Sport trim and can no longer be optioned for that trim level. Pricing for the package is set at $4,995 for the Premium Luxury, but it is unclear at the moment what price it will be set at for the Luxury trim.

The Onyx Package cannot be ordered in conjunction with the Blue Accent Package (RPO code PDL), the Bronze Accent Package (RPO code PDJ) or the Red Accent Package (RPO code PDK). In related news, The General has retired the Platinum Package (RPO code JSE), previously offered on both the Premium Luxury and Sport trims of the 2024 Cadillac XT5.

  • 20-inch Gloss Black wheels (LPO S2K)

As a reminder, the Cadillac XT5 is motivated by a choice of two powerplants for the 2025 model year. These include the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine developing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine offering 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.

The XT5 continues to use the GM C1 platform for structure. Production of the 2025 Cadillac XT5 will soon be under way at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
