Officially revealed back in October 2022, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV stands as Big Red’s third all-electric offering and the corporate cousin to the Chevy Silverado EV. With orders for the range-topping Denali Edition 1 model opening in March 2024, the all-electric pickup’s online configurator is now live and ready for fiddling.
As of the time of this writing, only the Denali Edition 1 is up for tinkering as it’s the sole trim level available for the 2024 model year. That being said, there’s not much configuration to be done outside of adding some dealer-installed accessories.
In other GMC Sierra EV-related developments, the GM Design team recently posted a series of sketches that give a behind-the-scenes look at the design process of Big Red’s all-electric pickup. The drawing offer a unique look at the Sierra EV Denali’s profile, as well as a detailed overview of the wheel design and taillights. To add a sense of completion, a quick side-by-side look demonstrates the clear inspiration the sketches gave the Sierra EV we know today.
“This truck was meticulously designed to create a bold and technical presence,” GM Design wrote. “From the commanding lines of the front to the machined surface of the sides, the team worked to evolve the ethos of the GMC brand with the Denali of EVs.”
As a reminder, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV is powered by GM Ultium Drive motor and GM Ultium battery technologies, which develop 754 horsepower and 758 pound-feet of torque and deliver an estimated 400 miles of range on a single charge. Meanwhile, the batteries can gain up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes on a compatible DC fast charger.
Under the skin lies the narrow-body version of the GM BT1 platform, which also underpins the Chevy Silverado EV. Of course, the GMC Hummer EV rides on the wide-body variant of the same platform. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

Nice Ridgeline. That should sell about as well as rotten fruit and used underwear. Even at a 100% discount I wouldn’t want that and I’m a Bowtie lifer.
Ridgeline!!!, what are talking about? Jim are you inferring that GM copied Honda? If anything Honda copied the Chevy Avalanche (2001-2013). Honda needed a truck that can be based on there minivan platform so they copied one of the most unique truck at the time the Chevy Avalanche. And thus the (farmless)2005 Ridgeline was born based on a minivan.
Bed of truck integrated into body of cab. Not GM’s first attempt at that, but I don’t remember the name of the prior model. It did have a lot more capacity than a Ridgeline though.
The front fascia is terrible. I’d rather have a Cybertruck than that. The front doesn’t look very aerodynamic.
FYI the Silverado and Sierra EVa have a lower coefficient of friction than the Cybertruck.
The CT is for people who feel a need to scream for attention. Me, I’d be embarrassed to own one.
That said, for certain very heavy uses I’d want a separate bed on a truck. For the uses I actually have, this would be adequate (ignoring towing).
Let’s kill BMW Worldwide …. Do Not Buy them… Stock felt from 120 to 86 put in 0
Just tried it, what exactly can you configure? No color options, no rim choices, no interior/exterior options, only bed accessories lol
$99,495 and thunderstorm gray is the only color option?
Nah, you won’t be able to get one at that price. Dealers will be marking them up at least 10-20K
Only one color option .. one price 100k
Anyone paying more that for an EV truck is a fool with too much money.
