Debuting a mid-cycle refresh for the crossover’s second generation, the 2024 Buick Envision loses two paint colors from its palette – ย Rich Garnet Metallicย (color code G4Q) andย Sapphire Metallic (color code GGH) – while gaining two new ones, including Calypso Blue Metallic (color code GZC) and Smokey Amethyst Metallic (color code G88). Here are the details about Calypso Blue.
Tagged with color code GZC and touch-up paint number WA-181H, Calypso Blue Metallic is one of the eight paint colors offered for the 2024 Buick Envision, with the full list of hues for the model year consisting of the following (color codes in parenthesis):
- Cinnabar Metallic (GEJ)
- Ebony Twilight Metallic (GB8)
- Moonstone Gray Metallic (GZA)
- Summit White (GAZ)
- White Frost Tricoat (GE8)
- Calypso Blue Metallic (GZC – new for 2024)
- Smokey Amethyst Metallic (G88 – new for 2024)
Only the range-topping Avenir trim level can be ordered with Calypso Blue Metallic paint, with the color unavailable to order on the base Preferred and mid-range Sport Touring trims. It is available at no extra charge and can be combined with both available Avenir interior colorways – namely, Ebony with Ebony accents and Cool Gray with Slate Blue accents.
As a reminder, the following interior colorways are offered on the 2024 Buick Envision:
- Ebony with Ebony accents
- Sandstone with Ebony accents
- Ebony with Sky Cool Gray and Ebony accents
- Garnet with Ebony accents
- Cool Gray with Slate Blue accents
The refreshed 2024 Envision features an overhauled exterior withย Buick Wildcat EV concept car design elements, headlined by a new front fascia and a new grille. The interior gets a fresh look as well, including a three-spoke, multi-function steering wheel and a large fully digital display, among other features.
The crossover is exclusively motivated by the turbochargedย 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine developing 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired as standard with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain no longer includes the FWD used for most trims of the 2023 model year and is a dual-clutch AWD for all trims.
Beneath the body panels, the Buick Envision makes use of the GM E2 platform for structure, while production of the model takes place at the GM-SAIC Jinqiao Plant in Shanghai, China.

Now that’s how to do blue. Unlike all those hideous non-metallic light blues that GM (and everyone else, monkey see-monkey do) is pushing on other models.
Should be offered on the ST trim. Bright blue is more fitting of a sporty model. If you want ST you’re stuck with black, two whites, grey, red, and the amethyst (which is way too feminine imo). Avenir should be deeper, more upscale colors to complement the trim level and chrome. Or at least just offer all colors across all trim levels.
I don’t care what the naysayers may think or say here about this exterior color. IT’S BORING!!! ๐นโ
Ordered mine in this color with the cool grey interior. I don’t usually do the top trim level, but I am really liking this color. Not ideal to get a ’24 model when the ’25 is around the corner, but I keep my vehicles for a long time, so not a big deal to me.
Also, I have an iPhone, so the CCP probably already have my browsing history.
