This Lifted, Diesel-Powered 1964 Cadillac DeVille Was Just Sold: Video

For fans of bizarre vehicles, a 1964 Cadillac DeVille with an incredible lift and a diesel engine recently found a new home – at an eye-popping $69,995, according to the seller, Streetside Classics.

Described by the seller as “an unholy Frankenstein’s monster” as well as what would result “if Sinatra and Schwarzenegger had a love child,” this unique 1964 Cadillac DeVille has an unknown number of miles on its odometer, though its lucky (?) new owner is probably poised to add even more to the total.

Preserving this extreme vehicle for posterity, the DeVille sports an exterior finished in gray metallic paint and LED headlights, while the interior sports a black and tan color scheme. The interior is retrofitted with many modern conveniences, such as power windows, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, Bluetooth radio, power brakes and steering, front and rear seatbelts, and an anti-theft system.

The 1964 Cadillac DeVille is perched atop the chassis of a 2015 GMC Sierra HD Denali pickup truck. The monstrosity rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped in 35×12.50R20LT tires, described in the listing as “thicker than a deep-dish pizza, making sure you grip the road like you’re giving Mother Earth a hearty handshake.”

Under the hood, this Cadillac DeVille – if it can still be called that – cradles the 6.6L V8 LML Duramax turbodiesel engine, cranking out 397 horsepower at the engine’s redline of 3,000 rpm and 765 horsepower at 1,600 rpm. Cog swaps are handled by the GM six-speed automatic transmission, with a four-wheel drivetrain backed up by front and rear power disc brakes.

The listing says “It’s like we’re trimming a bonsai with a chainsaw here,” and goes on to prove it with a 3-minute, 40-second video tour that includes driving footage. You can view the action here:

Summarizing this Lovecraftian creation of the automotive world, the listing remarks that “this Caddy is more attention-grabbing than a streaker at a monastery.”

We wish the best of luck to its new owner. What are your thoughts on this beast? Please share them in the comments below.

  1. I can’t stand it when customizers 1) electrify vehicles and 2) do this exact kind of thing. Looks ridiculous.

  2. That would have worked great for chasing coyotes back in the 60’s.

  3. Art is in the eye of the beholder, or they are blind, I think blind may be the issue here.

  4. Now, if they had bolted a Vista Cruiser body on it instead of a Caddy they’d of had something!

  5. This is cool, how could anyone not like it? I’ve done several body swaps, this one’s one of a kind!! Hat’s off to the builder.
