Some 2023 Chevy Express, GMC Savana Vans Were Built Without Bluetooth Connectivity

GM has issued information and launched a customer satisfaction program related to certain units of the 2023 Chevy Express and 2023 GMC Savana vans that were produced without Bluetooth connectivity or Wi-Fi hotspot capability.

According to Customer Satisfaction Program N242437120, the affected Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans were produced entirely without the hardware needed for Bluetooth or the Wi-Fi hotspot feature, with units both in the USA and Canada potentially affected.

There is no remedy or replacement offered by the customer satisfaction program for the missing Bluetooth or Wi-Fi equipment. Instead, dealers are instructed to issue a reimbursement check to Chevy Express and GMC Savana owners of record in the amount of $60, with the same amount offered in both U.S. and Canadian dollars.

GM has sent letters to owners of the affected vans who are “located within areas covered by the US National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.” For owners outside this area, The General has provided a form notification letter for dealers to send to known owners to notify them of the customer satisfaction program and reimbursement.

The reimbursement will be offered until May 31st, 2026. The number of affected Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans is unclear at this time. However, the wording of the program suggests that none of the affected vans remain in dealer inventory, and all are in the possession of companies or private individuals.

As a reminder, GM has sold a combined total of over 3 million Chevy Express and GMC Savana vans to date. The replacement of the ICE variants of the vans with EV models has allegedly been canceled.

Currently, the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are each offered in several configurations, including the Cargo, the Passenger and the Cutaway, all of which are focused on specific jobs.

  1. Unacceptable. Fix the issue. Most states are hands free driving (no holding a cell phone) and this is an important feature. This van is already uncompetitive and pretty much a pos.

    GM continues to unimpress.

    1. The only thing POS about the Express is GM’s own mismanagement of it.

Even at its age it could still be a solid seller if GM listened to customers begging for them. Might be beyond Mary’s comprehension but there are jobs that require more than a 4cyl crossover.

    2. Not hardly a POS, 2017 3500, 102k 6.0 repaired a small leak in rear axle, thats it, still on original brakes, always hauling tools and tile, not a vehicle on the road that can match that.

  2. Wow! $60 for not being able to use your phone on a vehicle most people keep 10 years or more. At least it’s enough to buy a cheap ass Bluetooth clip on thing from Amazon.

  3. At this point what does it matter? You can’t buy an Express or Savana anyway. Says no affected vehicles in dealer inventory. Here in San Diego and Los Angeles I haven’t been able to find one van in dealer inventory in over 5 years?

    1. Blame Barca. Women don’t like big boxy powerfool vans. Get rid of her and the van makes a comeback. Very reliable and well-made van. Once towed a Ford truck home.

      1. You still don’t get it that for a fleet operator for last mile delivery the Express / Savana are not even an option to consider. These EV vans were designed for such purpose and GM got it right. Watch the sales of such vehicles grow and the dinosaurs being extinct.

        1. The express can type an 8,000 lb trailer, day in, day out. Your Transits, Mercedes and Promasters can’t.

So if you have some serious towing to do, Chevy GMC is the only player.

  5. My 2024 Savana arrived at the dealer on Memorial Day weekend after being ordered the first week of September ‘23. I ordered the Bluetooth option, but GMC took it off the order and advised the dealer it was “no longer available”. They also canceled the upgraded radio that I wanted and the leather wrapped steering wheel. They only come with a basic AM/FM radio that looks like what was used around the early 2000’s. Seems like as they run out of these old parts, they simply delete them, while simultaneously raising the MSRP.
