LS-Powered 1987 Alfa Romeo Milano For Sale In Vermont: Video

When it comes to hot rodding, the classic formula of big engine, small car is a surefire winner. Such is the case with this 1987 Alfa Romeo Milano, which boasts a meaty 408-cubic-inch LS V8 engine under the hood. Now, this Italian-American mashup is listed for sale.

The car was built by Vermont-native Shea McClure, who dove headfirst into the project during Covid.

“Covid lockdown makes people do strange things,” McClure writes. “Mine was LS swapping a Milano and I went a little overboard.”

The build started with an LY6 block. For those who may be unaware, the LY6 is a 6.0L, fourth-generation LS engine previously found in GM’s truck models, including the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra. However, with a few upgrades, the LY6 can throw down with some very impressive output figures, making it a good choice for a performance application as well.

To that end, McClure installed a host of tasty mods, including an LS3 intake manifold, PAC valve springs, an Elgin Sloppy Stage 2 camshaft, a TSP stroker kit, ported 823 heads, and a 2.5-inch stainless steel exhaust.

“Build has about 50 miles on it, everything on the motor is brand new, alternator, water pump, etc.,” McClure states. The engine sends output to the rear wheels through a custom torque tube, T56 transaxle, and rear suspension from a C5-generation Corvette Z06. Wilwood brakes throw the anchor.

In the cabin, this Alfa Romeo now sports a full roll cage, a Momo steering wheel, Corbeau seats with five-point harnesses, and Autometer gauges.

The builder previously used his souped-up Alfa Romeo for autocross, but after investing more than $30,000 and hundreds of hours into the project, McClure says he’s moved onto the next thing and needs space in his garage. As such, this LS-swapped Alfa Romeo is currently listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace with an asking price of $10,500.
