Here’s When 2025 Cadillac CT5-V, CT5-V Blackwing Production Will Start

Debuting the mid-cycle refresh for Cadillac’s high-performance sports sedan, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing offer dynamic new exterior styling cues and a new cockpit, plus fresh standard tech features. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the two variants is set to kick off.

Notably, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing get a start of regular production (SORP) date that’s about two months later than the production start slated for the “regular” 2025 Cadillac CT5 sedan.

Specifically, production of the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 15th, 2024, though as usual, the date is tentative and subject to change in the interim. For comparison, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 was expected to start rolling off the assembly line on May 6th, 2024, representing the second delay after its SORP was rescheduled to April 24th, 2024 from April 2nd, 2024.

Production of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing will take place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan alongside the CT5, as with previous model years. Order banks for both V-Series variants will open on May 16th.

General Motors officially pulled the sheets on the 2025 CT5-V and also unveiled the CT5-V Blackwing back on January 24th of this year. Both variants get a reworked front fascia with crisp, aggressive new styling highlighted by the Cadillac signature vertical lighting, angular sculpting around the grille, and new front fenders. At the rear, the sedans get quad exhaust tips, along with four new CT5-V colors and three new paints for the Blackwing.

A high-mounted 33-inch-diagonal LED display is the centerpiece of both variants’ refreshed interior, while walk up and walk away lighting choreography is also added. GM’s semi-autonomous driver assist system Super Cruise is standard on the CT5-V and on the CT5-V Blackwing if the latter is optioned with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.

As a reminder, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V continues to be motivated by the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine developing 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque and sending power to either a RWD or AWD drivetrain. The high-performance 2025 CT5-V Blackwing, meanwhile, gets the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine cranking out a scorching 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque.

Underneath the body panels, the GM Alpha 2 platform provides the bones for the CT5, CT5-V, and CT5-V Blackwing alike.
