Way back in July 2020, GM Authority reported that General Motors was sending gifts to fortunate owners of the then-new 2020 Corvette. Well, it appears as though The General is back at it again, as one Corvette Z06 owner shared his new Z06-themed gift via a post online.
Buyers of the Corvette Z06 seem to be receiving a special gift from General Motors in the form of a scale model of their vehicle painted in the same production paint color they ordered. These scale models also feature a decorative plaque on the base reading ‘Z06’, along with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) that corresponds with their track-focused Vette.
Interestingly, GM has a history of sending gifts of this nature, as was seen with buyers of the Cadillac CT6-V and CT6 Platinum when they received a 3D-printed scale model of the Blackwing twin-turbocharged 4.2L V8 LTA gasoline engine.
Beyond the scale model, the Detroit-based automaker also included a discount coupon for the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School at Spring Mountain. This means that if the new owner were so inclined, they may attend the two-day high-performance driver education seminar for just $1,000. For reference, the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School provides classroom and on-track instruction and will teach students both basic and advanced driving techniques.
As a reminder, C8 Z06 is headlined by its powertrain, which consists of the high-revving naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed to the rear wheels via the Tremec eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Under the body panels, the Corvette Z06 rides on the GM Y2 platform, which underpins all Corvette C8 variants. Meanwhile, production takes place exclusively at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

do you get 2 of those if you paid 100% markup to a dealer… asking for those who spent 240k on one :))
Some C8 buyers have their speed model car gift in less than 8 weeks while many of us are still waiting over 2 damn years – if it was run any worse I would swear it was the useless clowns at Corvette Concierge mishandling it. Fill the 2 year old orders first you bumblling horse’s asses
I received one for my 2020 Stingray and 2024 Stingray.
I received one for my 2020 C8 Stingray about six months after delivery of my Vette. For a Z06 it should be more special.
Mine came in about a month…Very nice GM!
Waiting for my Z06 in August. This would be a nice finishing touch.
My model came 6 weeks after i took delivery of my 2024 C8 riptide blue metalic convertible.. very nice Chevrolet, it shows you care about your buyers!!
As stated by many others, GM is sending these plaques to C8 Stingray owners as well, mine came as a surprise and it matches the paint color of my 2024 Stingray, it also has the VIN engraved in the plaque. These are not exclusive to Z06 models.
I received mine for a 2021 Stingray, and went to Ron Fellows school. I did have to call Concierge to check on it all though. My friends got theirs quickly
Since I retired from selling Covettes about 5 years ago, I bought a 2022 coupe, and traded that for a 2023 HTC. I needed to call to request the models both times. I’m guessing that the majority of buyers know nothing about the program.
GM sent us a set of posters of the Camaro Fifty murals as well as a hero card with owner, specifications and production sequence (U.S. owners) about 6 months after buying my 17 Camaro 50th anniversary. That was highly unexpected. Posters were about 20×22” and had 8 or 9 posters. One of each of the 6 generations, one with information about each generation and the cover sheet with a black ZL1 doing a burnout. The 18 Hot Wheels edition owners received a set of (2) hot wheels cars. A 67 & a 18 in a special case. Anything extra is appreciated GM!
I can remember in the ’80’s and 90’s and into the new century, GM sent us “gifts”; cooler bags, CD cases, etc. Nothing real expensive but it made you feel like somewhat of a valued customer. Today, they could give a $hit about their customers.
Maybe GM should focus on getting the ceramic cars to the customers from 2020 – 2021 – 2022 who have not received their welcome package yet.
Sorry to hear that some people haven’t received there gift. I would think your dealer could do something about this.
It’s a lot nicer than the gift I got for my ZL1, but I appreciate that also.
Wow this post prompted me to open a “Black Box” I received from GM a couple weeks ago. Much to my surprise it was the gift of a really nice Model/Display replica of my 2023 ZO6! Thank you, GM! I appreciate it and with the rest of my memorabilia representing new ZO6’s since 2002 I’ll pass it along to my grandkids as my dad did with his 1963.
I’ve already signed up for the Spring Mountain gig and look forward to it. Thank you for the discount!
Now I wonder if my loyalty will culminate in obtaining my final Corvette, the 2025 ZR1?
This is so special, just so special. I will buy a Porsche.
To bad GM wouldn’t take care of my cracked rims on my Grandsport. Said it was a design flaw not a manufacturing defect ! Like who cares Gm you put the Rims on the car. They are Clowns . Toyota replaces bad Frames on 20 k trucks and GM can’t even replace rims on 60k cars . IM OUT !!!
