GM Authority previously released pricing details for the next-gen 2024 Chevy Traverse, with price increases on carryover trims ranging from $3,080 to $9,155 and a higher destination freight charge as well. The lowest starting MSRP is set at $38,995 for the entry-level LS trim with the front-wheel drivetrain, while the highest is $57,595 for the RS trim with all-wheel drive.

Motivation is supplied by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated by GM at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. This powerplant replaces the second-generation’s naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine. Power reaches the pavement through the GM eight-speed automatic transmission. FWD is equipped as standard, while AWD is available as an option.

Under the skin, the 2024 Chevy Traverse is underpinned by a revised version of the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform. This platform now features assorted upgrades, including the addition of the Global B digital architecture. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

  1. I’ve been a Chevy guy since 1956. I know that I am in a minority but I dont like black interiors. What in the world happened to the beautiful Grays or cream colored interiors? This will unfortunately keep me from buying a Chevy. Sad.

    1. Automotive journalists and the general public complained that lighter interiors are too difficult to clean. So manufacturers scaled back options. This is not unique to Chevy, unfortunately.

  2. Come on GM. You have a beautiful new vehicle. Why is every interior color black? Black interior is good in a work truck for hiding dirt especially on seats. A black interior does nothing to enhance the interior appearance of these vehicle. I noticed a trend in the entire GM line up to use black interiors. On some vehicles with non black seats GM still users black carpet. Ugh!
I had a black interior once in a 2500 HD. Showed all the lint and fuzzies. Was hot in the summer as well. Will never own another vehicle with black interior.
This is most likely a cost savings choice for obvious reasons. Come on GM. There are so many choices of interior colors that would make a vehicle really pop. Get out of this all or nothing black interior mode.

  3. Six interior option codes , the word black is in everyone of them. 6 black options = no sale.
No premier or high country = No sale.

  4. GM knows they have plenty of loyal GM purchasers waiting for the first editions of these new trucks. GM do not have to do anything but clean up on the $Money for the first year (supply and demand). Now next year GM knows they will have to please the purchasers and they will provide all the accessories to get the sales. I will wait until the 2025 model when GM has to please the purchaser.

  5. I agree with everyone else, ugly, hot black interiors.

    1. Ugly? LOL, having beige interior would be ugly. To each their own I guess.

  6. More GM stupidity. ONE two tone color (light grey). And as pointed out, all based on black. Smh. This lacm of colors on the inside is also across other gm vehicles, even buick and caddy ct4. Do they think people dont want choices and warm colors?? Does anyone remember how there use to be a dozen interuor choices? The bean counters at gm are winning again. It saves money when they only have to make and stock and contract for few interiors. What they dont understand is their savings is offset more by reduced sales. You have to by a Vette to get the good variety of colors these days

  7. The new Buicks and Cadillacs offer more colors… I don’t understand why don’t Chevy offer a soft blue or a bright brown for higher end trims.

  8. Is the Evotex (fake leather) really worth $1K? Not in my opinion.

    1. I sat in it. Compared to cloth…yes it is worth that. I’d have never thought it wasn’t leather.

  9. I’m not a fan of black either, however I love the looks of the vehicle so I’ll learn to like it. Lol. Now if we can just get some in Utah!!!

  10. this subject always make me think back to the 50’s when GM put out cars with fantastic color choices with a matching dash. the last vehicle i had that did not have black was my ford aerostar with the red seats and burgundy dash

  11. I totally agree with the above comments. I am considering on buying a 2025 GMC Sierra X31, but NOT with black interior. I don’t want a work truck! I live in S. Florida and that says it all.

The only problem with these blogs is that the GM upper management doesn’t read them. Then they wonder why sales are declining!

  12. Black, black, black, black, black or black!!! Is there anyone at GM with a little imagination?

    1. all the designers right out of college are sheep, they just follow and obey. Imagination died in the 70’s.

  13. In one of his skits, the late George Carlin said we end the earth’s heating problems by hanging black car seats out in the sun with wiring to transfer the heat to homes. Maybe he was on to someting. First new car was a 79 Bright blue metallic Z28 with a blue deluxe vinyl interior. New 84 Dark blue metallic Monte Carlo SS had a deluxe dark blue cloth interior, beautiful combos. Even a new brown 79 Chevette had a brown vinyl interior. 90 white Lumina Euro, blue coth. New 02 Sand Drift Metallic Impala LS (still have, soon to be 200K trouble free 3800 v6 miles) has neutral leather interior. Wife’s ’20 Equinox LT and son’s ’17 Garnet Red Tintcoat Camaro LT1 RS, V6, black cloth (both bought new off lot). My six Chevelles white, blue or red interiors. Those were the days!

  14. it seems imagination, and design have gone out the window, in an effort to save a buck. All that black is depressing and hot….used to love when carmakers made blue, gray, or tan interiors. ITs going back to the days of Henry Ford, you can have it any color as long as its black. I hate all the black, looks cheap, and is cheap to produce, hence the reason you now pay for different paint colors other than black, white or silver. Ill keep my 14 CTS coupe with the tan interior with the wood, and aluminum trim…these chevy interior suck big time….boring just like the people that drive those ugly fwd, 4 cylinder wheeze boxes…

I have had 4 traverses ..like the Z71 but too much ..do not need off road suspension..Rs too expensive

  15. These were originally to be out January and here it is May and they are still not on any car lot. GM should be ashamed that 2024 model will be 2025. Evotex vice leather, no thank you, LS, LT or The Z model you don’t have coice to order leather seats.

  16. I was really looking forward to driving one, but all black interiors? Really? Who made that decision? Fire them. Where I live you don’t want a black interior. Sorry Chevy.

  17. Love the Traverse! Hate black gor showing dust, lint and horrible in hit weather. I can see the design team have no thought that a pretty good percentage of buyers want the awe factor. Something different! Black does not cut it. Probably the same team that recommended 4×4 vehicles come without a 2 speed transfer standard. Both bad decisions!!

  18. Perhaps I’m alone in this but I don’t care about exterior color choices or interior colors as I’ll likely want black anyway. What I do care about is where are they since they can’t seem to get them to dealers. I want to see and test drive one not just look at pictures of them.

As someone who’ll be in the market in January when my lease ends on my 2022 will there be a 2025 model in Premier trim at that point or will they be trying to push 2024s they got to market in late Summer? I’d never want the first year regardless. I’ve always been a GM person with the exception of one Lexus but I feel those days may be coming to an end.

    1. People just like to be negative no matter what. I have the 2024 RS in the red and absolutely love this vehicle. It has more get up and go than my 21 premier redline did. These are made to be a family vehicle not a race car.

  22. I agree with other comments. I don’t like the black interior. A previous Traverse I owned was white pearl exterior with a dark caramel interior. I absolutely loved that vehicle. I lost it when I was hit by another driver and it was totaled. Couldn’t you at least offer a dark/charcoal gray?

  23. GM needs to get new customer minded designers. GM needs to hold customers clinics..I ‘m a former GM retiree. (Field rep for dealerships.)..Customer satisfaction is the only way to sell vehicles and maintain loyalty.

  24. When driven, 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander seems to have more Power (and take-off power from a stop / red light) and sounds better than 2024 Chevy Traverse (though Traverse is said to have more power on paper). Is the new 2.5 L turbo engine being pushed more than it should?

Grand Highlander’s 3rd row thigh support seems to be a tad more comfortable than Chevy Traverse.

Hope Chevrolet makes some key improvements in 2025 Chevy Traverse, and also offer 2nd bench seating as an option (in addition to Captain seats) in upper trims.

  25. I really wanted a 2024 traverse, but the black only interiors is a big no for me! I live in the deep south. White exterior and light interior is the way to go. Black interior gets too hot! I hope Chevy will change their minds about the interior color.
