Several Bow Tie models, including the 2023 to 2024 Chevy Blazer, the 2023 Chevy Traverse, and the 2024 Chevy Trailblazer, are included in a new customer satisfaction program related to a potential transmission fluid leak caused by a defect in a few transmission cases.
The Chevy Blazer and other Chevy models involved are included in the same customer satisfaction program as a handful of GMC, Buick, and Cadillac models, with vehicles from all four of GM’s core brands eligible for the provided remedy.
GM has issued two numbered Customer Satisfaction Programs for the Chevy Blazer and other affected vehicles. Number N232433891 covers units configured with FWD (RPO code FWD), while number N232433890 applies to those vehicles built with AWD (RPO code F48) drivetrains. A list of VINs for involved vehicles has been supplied to dealers by The General.
The problem is centered on a potential leak of transmission fluid that could cause inadequate fluid levels inside the transmission case if not corrected. The precise cause of the issue is a porous area around one of the mounting bolt holes in the transmission case, which could allow fluid to seep through.
The fix for the leak to be applied by dealership service personnel is full replacement of the transmission case. Dealers must apply this fix whenever an affected Chevy Blazer, Chevy Trailblazer, or Chevy Traverse unit arrives in their inventory or is brought to the dealership for servicing. The program lasts through June 30th, 2026 and applies to all vehicles with the problem. The remedy is applied free of charge to the owner.
If necessary, a courtesy vehicle must be provided to the owner while the fix is carried out. U.S. and Canadian owners of record will receive a notification letter about the issue and the available fix directly from GM. Outside these areas, dealers must send a notification letter – provided by The General – to known owners of exported Chevy vehicles.
As a reminder, the Chevy Blazer is equipped with one of two powerplants, either the turbocharged 2.0L LSY I4 gasoline engine developing 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 3.6L LGX V6 gasoline engine rated at 308 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque.
The Chevy Traverse utilizes  the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine developing 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque and paired with the GM nine-speed automatic transmission, while the 2024 Trailblazer equips either the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine cranking out 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque or the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine producing 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.

I have a 2023 Blazer. Is there a way to see if my vehicle is involved in this without having to call the dealer?
Wait for a letter? If it is, they will let you know…

I own a 2023 trailblazer LS please keep me informed to see if my trailblazer is involved thank you Cynthia Johnson
Is this for “all” wheel drive models, or front wheel drive models. If it is just front wheel drive models that explains why the ’24 Trax has a 6-speed automatic.
This is a customer satisfaction thing, which I am assuming is equivalent to a TSB (technical service bulletin) not a recall. GM does not reach out to customers for TSBs. They only fix it if you ask or if you are having a problem that could be solved by the repair. They want to do as little free work as possible so they only send out letters for recalls as required by the NHSA
My Father had a 2018 Terrain FWD. 1.5 with 9 Spd. His case leaked. Dealer told him around $8k To repair. He Traded for a Buick Envision Avanier AWD.
