Earlier this year, GM Authority reported that General Motors’ electric vehicles will gain access to the extensive Tesla Supercharger network sometime in Spring 2024. While this has yet to take effect, the timeline appears to be unchanged.
According to a report from InsideEVs, GM’s adoption of the Supercharger infrastructure is imminent. Notably, this development comes despite a recent round of layoffs to Supercharger staff, which has raised questions about the future growth and maintenance of the charging network. That being said, Tesla has since hired back some of its laid-off team members.
“We plan to stick to the timeline that we previously announced, and that’s kind of all I can say,” GM Global Strategic Technology Communications Director Sanaz Marbley remarked. “I think Spring 2024 is accurate.”
It’s worth noting that if this statement is indeed accurate, GM EVs will have access to the Tesla Supercharger network sometime in the next three weeks, considering Spring officially ends on June 20th.
As a reminder, the Tesla Supercharger Network will be integrated into GM vehicle infotainment and mobile apps, allowing drivers to quickly locate and pay for charging at available Tesla Supercharger stations.
Of course, GM customers using Superchargers will initially need an adapter before the Detroit-based automaker makes the transition to North American Charging Standard (NACS) connectors on its 2025 model-year EVs. Beyond that, The General will also make additional adapters for charging on CSS-capable fast charge stations.
Interestingly, the 2025 GMC Hummer EV will not get a NACS adapter.
Looking to the future, General Motors has continued to invest in expanding the existing North American EV charging infrastructure. In fact, GM electric vehicle owners already have access to 134,000 chargers through the Ultium Charge 360 initiative.
Building upon that, General Motors has also made a wide array of agreements with multiple third-party charging networks, including Blink Charging, ChargePoint, EV Connect, EVgo, FLO, and Greenlots.

GM stated fall in the Optiq press release.
Seems like it would be worth waiting until the 2025 model year so as to not have to use an adaptor. Also, to get a bit of aging on the design of the Blazer and Equinox to work out the kinks. That can’t be that many months off.
What does Tesla charge per KWh?
Been seing some ccs 350kw chargers over 50 cents, bit pricey. I’m at 13cents at home.
I guess we still have time since Spring ends June 20th….
