The automaker’s European subsidiary announced the upcoming opening of the all-new Cadillac City Paris Experience Center as part of the planned expansion of the luxury brand’s presence in Europe. The new Cadillac lifestyle facility in the French capital will be inaugurated on May 30 as the first place where the Cadillac Lyriq and the brand’s entire new EV lineup will begin to be promoted in the country.

“Starting May 30, the Lyriq will have a permanent address in Paris when we open the Cadillac City experience center at 7 Rue Meyerbeer on Place de l’Opéra. The space has a classical layout that blends utilitarianism with functionalism,” said Pere Brugal, Chief Commercial Officer of GM Europe. “A long imposing entryway welcomes guests into a bright conservatory before leading them into the luxurious world of Cadillac—classic yet modern at the same time,” he added.

The all-new Cadillac City Paris will become the iconic luxury brand’s second experience and lifestyle center on the old continent, following the debut of the new Cadillac City Zurich last October. Cadillac City represents the latest customer-centric marketing initiative and one of the key pillars of Cadillac’s all-electric business in Europe, with new experience centers opening soon in Germany and other countries in the region.

In particular, the Cadillac City Paris is located in a classic and exclusive building in the heart of the French capital. The commercial head of GM Europe highlighted that Cadillac’s new home on the Place de l’Opéra was designed by the famous architect Charles Rohault de Fleury and fits perfectly with the brand’s philosophy. “The architect’s vision of bringing together style and function in perfect harmony reflects the Cadillac ethos of blending design and technology to create a superior driving experience,” Brugal finished.

  1. Another reason why Cadillac is becoming more and more unaffordable with every passing day. Between the advertisements and the electric agenda, Mary is going to sink Cadillac.

    1. Your complaint makes no sense. Cadillac is a luxury brand.

  2. “The brand’s first permanent location in France”. Anyone care to take a wager on how long permanent lasts?

    1. About as long as that Cadillac HQ’s move to New York lasted.

      1. That Johaan DeNyschen was the most useless CEO any car company has ever had. He was more worried about renaming model ranges than anything else. He did the same at Infiniti and Infiniti is still a dying brand.

    2. Less than 6 months, but I’m sure they will find a way to blow as much money and get as little back as possible.

  3. Just stop. Seriously, just stop it. It’s like watching an addict destroy their life at this point.

    1. Exactly! The French are far too sophisticated to buy crude American products/cars…

      1. Haha! Ever drive a Renault?

        Lyriq is indestructible by comparison.

  4. There have been several attempts by Cadillac to market in Europe–all quietly failed. The service was dismal and the cars did not appeal to Europeans. I recall when the STS was built in RH drive but no one bought them.

  5. I would appreciate it if any of our French or German Friends would comment as to whether the Charging Jack on the LYRIQs supplied to the Continent is a CCS2/Mennekes jack arranged for 16 amperes 3-phase, as opposed to the standard CCS1/J1772 Jack with a 48 ampere single phase charger attached as in North America, or if they have some other arrangement…

We also have an 80 ampere charger as an optional arrangement for around $1,600. I would assume any optional arrangement for the Continent would be an analogous 32 amperes 3-phase, but I’d like someone to confirm the particulars.

    Thanks in Advance.

To the last comment. France and Germany use LH steering wheels.

    1. He’s not saying that France and Germany are RHD, he’s stating that GM even went as far as making the 1998-2004 Seville in RHD versions for global export to the UK, Japan, etc……which is a herculean task for “the worlds biggest car company” somehow when its no sweat to any other company in the world to do, even tiny boutique automakers like Aston Martin and Ferrari easily make LHD and RHD versions of all their models…..and even with RHD, no one was interested.

  6. The French are understandably very prideful and protective of their unique and wonderful culture. GM would do well to focus initially on the ancestral connection of the Cadillac name to France to draw the people in to their awesome products.

  7. Exactly what the French have been waiting for. Not.

I’ve lost count how many times Cadillac has “re-launched” in Europe and failed.

  8. Being born in GErmany and living there, I was at first irritated by GM not starting the European marketing in Germany, which GM always did, as having the long history of owning a subsidiary in Germany with Opel.

But for Cadillac wanting to be seen as a luxury brand, it makes sense to start in Paris which sees herself as the capital of luxury, and the actual importance of a luxury industry being an important part of French economy, with companies like LVMH and what have you.

Don’t try to export luxury from Germany to France!

Big exception: the automobile industry. But here the British had the luxury part with Rolls Royce — which VW’s boss Piech wanted to acquire by
