The GM Authority Take
Cadillac XT6 sales again fell behind its crosstown rival, the Lincoln Aviator, which has the refreshed 2025 Aviator on the way to take on Cadillac’s largest crossover. Though GM will offer a 2025 Cadillac XT6 after all, it may or may not receive a much-needed refresh for the North American market. Yet, a new XT6 will debut in China this year, which inspires us to list five things we’d like to see from the XT6 update for the States.
Furthermore, XT5, XT6, and Lyriq production was down during the first week of the new year due to maintenance, which may have impacted Cadillac XT6 sales this quarter. Production of the 2025 Cadillac XT6 is scheduled to kick off on July 8th.
Combining sales of the Buick Enclave with that of the XT6 did push GM into fourth place overall, just behind stiff competition from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus.
About Cadillac XT6
The 2024 Cadillac XT6 arrives as the fourth model year of the first generation of the luxury marque’s largest crossover. It received a few changes and updates, the most significant being a trio of accent packages GM debuted: the new Red Accent Package, Blue Accent Package, and Bronze Accent Package.
While there are no announced plans for an XT6 refresh that the model deserves, Cadillac has introduced EVs to eventually replace its ICE-based lineup.
The Cadillac Lyriq is the luxury marque’s first-ever EV and its all-electric replacement for the aging Cadillac XT5. A Cadillac V-Series EV is set to debut this year, likely as the Cadillac Lyriq-V.
The first-ever all-electric Cadillac Optiq was revealed this past November and caught in the wild this past December. It is Cadillac’s entry-level EV offering to eventually replace the Cadillac XT4, which itself received a refresh for the 2024 model year. In April, the Optiq launched in China.
These models precede the recently announced first-ever 2026 Cadillac Vistiq, an all-electric three-row crossover spotted on the road in February that is set to round out the EV portfolio, slotting in the same space occupied by the XT6.
The first-ever Cadillac Escalade IQ full-sizer will slot above the Vistiq.

Comments
Once again I’d love to point out the stupidity in GM’s thinking while constantly pushing everyone to an SUV.
Thus far for Q1 2024: Chevy Malibu sales is about 800 MORE than the top selling SUV on this list, the Buick Enclave and Cadillac XT6 combined.
Yup. So let’s kill it.
the target market for the malibu and enclave/XT6 is completely different. A better comparison is malibu vs trax/trailblazer/equinox
Top 10, huh? It’s 10th in a segment of 16. You can make numbers say about anything & you guys do this very often.
Ok so the much needed interior refresh will happen in China this year, lets hope NA gets the same refresh. The same refresh as the XT4 but also adding the 2 5 Turbo would make this vehicle very competitive!
I think they’re dropping this for the Vistiq.
