As GM Authority exclusively anticipated earlier this year, General Motors has just launched the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail hatchback in Chile.
The all-new 2024 Chevy Sail hatchback was officially launched in Chile this week as the newest member of the redesigned Sail range, which debuted in the South American country late last year in four-door sedan configuration. As such, the new five-door 2024 Sail complements the brand’s portfolio at the entry level to meet the preferences of a younger customer profile.
“Chevrolet Sail Hatchback seeks to meet the needs of young customers who are looking for their first car, and who need a good combination of price-quality, comfort and safety during their trips,” said Pablo Riquelme, Chevrolet Brand Manager of GM Chile. “We are sure that it will quickly become popular due to its attractive features, but also because of the trust provided by a traditional brand like Chevrolet,” he added.
Introducing the second body style in the nameplate’s local offering for the first time , the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail hatchback is launched in Chile with a total of three variants distributed across the LT and LTZ trim levels. All come standard with a complete set of technology and safety features, with the LTZ adding more connectivity solutions as well as a rearview camera and reverse sensors to make parking easier.
Mechanically, all three 2024 Chevy Sail hatchback units maintain the same naturally aspirated 1.5L engine that equips the Sail sedan. The engine develops 98 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic transmission – the latter exclusive to the second range-topping LTZ variant.
The all-new 2024 Chevy Sail hatchback is now available for sale in the brand’s official dealer network in Chile, which is the most competitive automotive market with the highest growth rate in South America. As is the case with the sedan, 2024 Sail hatchback units arrive in the Chilean market imported from the Tianjin plant in China, where it is manufactured by the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture for Chevrolet.
Here is pricing for the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail hatchback in Chile:
- 2024 Sail HB LT: 10,990,000 pesos (about $11,870 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2024 Sail HB LTZ: 11,790,000 pesos (about $12,340 USD)
