2025 GMC Terrain Denali Spied With Undisguised Front End

The official debut of the all-new 2025 GMC Terrain inches closer every single day, with GM gearing up to launch the crossover’s all-new third generation. Among the updates will be revised exterior styling, with a revamped front fascia high on the list of aesthetic improvements. Now, we have our first undisguised look at the chrome-laden 2025 GMC Terrain Denali thanks to the following GM Authority spy photos.

The front end of the 2025 GMC Terrain Denali.

GM previously teased the headlight and grille on the new 2025 Terrain AT4, but now we’re checking out an unobstructed view of the 2025 Terrain Denali, giving us a more complete picture of the styling changes. The front end showcases a striking set of revised C-shaped headlights, which are placed alongside inner chrome accents flanking the revised grille. The grille’s chrome finish and reshaped bumper give the Terrain Denali a distinctive, polished look, differentiating it from the rest of the trim level lineup. Despite the exposed front, the sides and rear remain under wraps in camouflage.

Although it remains unclear how the 2025 Terrain’s C- and D-pillars will differ from the shark fin design shown by the Terrain’s platform-mate, the Chevy Equinox, the uncovered front end marks a bold design evolution for the next-generation Terrain Denali. This particular prototype also rolls on sizable, silver-finish wheels, although the exact wheel and tire size is currently unknown.

Inside, the 2025 GMC Terrain is expected to draw heavily from the 2024 GMC Acadia. An 11-inch Driver Information Center and a vertically oriented, portrait-style central infotainment display should be key interior features, mirroring the setup seen in the Acadia.

Under the hood, the 2025 Terrain is expected to be powered by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, paired with GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle will ride on an updated version of the GM D2 platform, offering both front-wheel and all-wheel drive options.

Production of the third-generation Terrain will take place at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico, though its start has been pushed back to October of 2024.

  1. Looks great. I’m glad they kept the familiar design language on the front. It still is clearly a Terrain.

  2. I don’t care that much about the front end, it’s the C/D pillar area that concerns me. From these shots, looks like another tiny rear side window and that will mean I’ll not even consider it. If it is tiny again, that’s just pure stupidity. Not that GM is being very smart these days to begin with.

    1. Seriously? You won’t buy because of the rear window size? News flash, they are all small, every single brands compact CUV has tiny rear windows, that is all you can do with a short rear end and ever tightening roof crash safety standards, steel will hold weight a ton better than glass…

      2. Uh, Subaru Forester called with its excellent visibility AND safety ratings, but you didn’t hear the phone ring. Maybe put it on vibrate?

    2. Like you were really gonna buy one anyway lol.

  3. Seems the grille gains more prominence with its size here. Would be interesting to see the new AT-4 and Elevation trims, will GMC continue with the floating roof trend?

        1. Looks pretty cool but I do believe it needs a 2.0 l engine in the terrain on the Denali version at least give us that option !!’n

    3. GM is about to find out about the New 4 Banger Engine their pushing on the loyal V6 / V8 owners!! I’m sitting this 4cyl nonsense out and looking elsewhere in near future for my next truck!! In addition, you are lucky if you save 2 mpg over the current 310hp V6, this makes absolutely No Sense!

  5. Look a lot like my Acadia. I hope it is larger than the present Terrain. We may move to that. Not a fan of the larger Acadia.

    1. Why you want it larger, some people find large cars hard to drive

  6. If GMC truly wants to attract premium buyers, they have to put a more powerful motor in this thing.

  7. Front end looks great. Severe beltline kick-up at the rear door suggests another miniature quarter window, which, in turn, suggests another round of poor visibility over your shoulder when merging onto the highway. The blocky first-gen greenhouse was more than welcome to return here, but alas…

  8. Can we please have SMALLER grilles and BIGGER windows??? Somebody???? Anybody???!

  9. The touchscreen has bigger displacement than the engine……

  10. This needs a more powerful engine for the money being charged for these things. If the 2 liter turbo is a no go how about a hybrid version which will improve mpg and power at the same time. Honda, Toyota, Hyundai and Kia all see to get this, why not GM?

    1. A hybrid is coming

  11. No one is asking about the strange random chrome C shapes haphazardly placed on the front of this? Why are they there? To attempt a design language that is somewhat related to the Canyon?

  12. I don’t care too much for the chrome accents on both sides of the grille, other than that it looks good. A 1.5 Liter for a Denali?, I truly have to scratch my head on that one. A new 2.5 Liter or the current 2.7 Liter application would have been nice for that trim level.

  13. The only thing I don’t like is the chrome bisecting and joining the headlamps to what is below them. Other than that I like it.

  14. Hybrid. Hybrid. Hybrid.

    1. GM needs to stop playing and drop a twin turbo v6 in the Terrain and Canon change up the gearing in all 3 trans, diff, and transfer and make em the New 2025 Typhoon, Cyclone…..Drop both and put some sticky tires on them too😉
