GM unveiled the 2025 Chevy Equinox this past January, showing off the all-new fourth generation for the popular crossover. Updates include an overhauled cabin, new exterior styling, enhanced tech, improved safety features, and a revised trim level lineup. Notably, the LS trim has been deleted, making the LT the new entry-level model. Now, GM Authority has captured the 2025 Chevy Equinox LT in the following photos, providing the first real-world look at the latest base trim.
Like the rest of the 2025 Equinox lineup, the 2025 Chevy Equinox LT features a reworked front fascia. The LT stands out with its chrome trim in the grille, with broad, horizontal slats running across the large front intake. The overall appearance is considerably more rugged than the preceding model, with two-tiered lighting, black lower cladding, and a shark-fin-style C-pillar providing a nod to the rest of the Chevy lineup.
In addition to the chrome accents, the LT trim offers a variety of other features to enhance its appeal as the entry-level model. Standard equipment includes 17-inch aluminum wheels, while 19-inch wheels are available as an option. Inside, the LT trim boasts heated front cloth seats and a heated steering wheel. The infotainment setup includes an 11.3-inch diagonal touch-screen with Google Built-In and an 11-inch diagonal Driver Information Center. Cloth seats are standard, but customers can also opt for Evotex, GM’s synthetic leather.
Other standard features in the LT trim include 5G connectivity with built-in Wi-Fi, a six-speaker audio system, and a folding 60/40 split-bench second-row seats. There’s also optional wireless device charging.
Under the hood, all 2025 Chevy Equinox models, including the LT, are powered by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine. This engine delivers 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque in front-wheel-drive (FWD) variants, and 203 pound-feet of torque in all-wheel-drive (AWD) models. The FWD units are paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while AWD configurations use the GM eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 2025 Chevy Equinox is built on an updated version of the GM D2 platform, with the new exterior dimensions including an increased wheelbase length, increased overall length, and greater overall width compared to the previous generation. Production is set to begin at the GM San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico in June. Pricing for the 2025 Chevy Equinox LT starts at $29,995 for the FWD model and $31,995 for the AWD model, including a $1,395 destination freight charge.

It looks like it ate too many cup cakes, especially in the main picture
I see no reason to go higher on the trim level scale. It looks good, even with the distortion of the telephoto lens and the boring silver paint job.
I would order monochrome Cacti Green with the 19″ wheels and black emblem package.
One MORE shade of gray.
Personally I like the color…..better than typical black or white!
Matter of taste but I love the silver
I think it looks great, I always liked those wheels in a simmilar design on the second gen Equinox LTs. I’d buy one in a heartbeat to replace our old/tired CR-V if it had a powertrain alternative. The 1.5L w/CVT combo is an absolute dealbreaker for me… I recently drove a ’23 Equinox LT rental with the 1.5L and it was a total dissapointment. I could look past the bargain-basement cheap interior and infotainment, but the 1.5L was poor performing, loud & buzzy. I can’t imagine what adding in the drone from a CVT would do for NVH… The ’23 had a ton of road noise in the cabin too. That was my one and only expirence in a 3rd generation Equinox, and it was a giant step back in size, styling, comfort and even fuel economy from our second generation model that we previously woned with the 2.4L. Lets hope the new Equinox isn’t a phoned in effort like the last one, but please give us some different powertrain choices.
Man, they kind of mailed-in that front end design.
Pretty weak.
Its a great look and i bet they will sell like hotcakes.
Its like the new Trax , 2 years ago when we saw the spy shots , so many critics said it would never work in NA and the 1.3 was a huge mistake . Nothing could be further from the truth. We have a 2024 1RS Trax at work now with over 20,000 kilometers .
The Trax is a fantastic car, the looks , styling, comfort , standard equip and value is unbeatable , GM just cannot build enough.
As the owner of 6 Equinox since model 1 in 2005, i think this one will be another home run for Chevy. It has the style , looks , features and models that consumers are looking for, i just hope GM has t5he capacity to build enough.
Thank you the last 5 new vehicles by Chevy have been home runs
One big advantage the Trax will have over the new Equinox is it does not have a CVT transmission, which was surprising knowing how GM likes to shove CVTs in their car based vehicles. At least the new Equinox will get the 8 speed automatic with AWD.
The Equinox only comes in CVT in FWD, if you purchase awd, it will be an 8spd automatic.
Ive seen it in person. Like many of their more recent launches, They have mailed in the whole car. They only care about tucks and EV’s anymore.
Tucks? Is that somehow related to that whole diversity and inclusion thing? Just asking.
LOL!! Should have said Trucks. Proof reading would be helpful.
Mailed?
Looks like a baby traverse. How about posting specs, length, ground clearance, weight, width
It’s always been a baby Traverse, so I guess they nailed it.
I expect it to continue to sell really well.
Ready to see the GMC Terrain!
“…customers can also opt for Evotex, GM’s synthetic leather”. Also known as VINYL. Now GM charges a premium for vinyl seats. Leather is animal hide, not synthetic.
Modern vinyl is a far cry from the plasticky junk from 2 decades ago. In many metrics (softness, wear, cleanliness) it’s actually superior to leather. If they can make a quality vinyl seat that combines the advantages of the material with a good fitting seat it’s a winner.
Spot on. The softex seats in the wifes Rav4 were phenomenal. Easy to clean, softer than most other leathers not associated with a German luxury vehicle, no regular up keep. I will take a synthetic leather over regular leather any day. 100k later and no wear cracks that happens with leather.
I was looking forward to the new Equinox. However, I don’t do CVT transmissions. So, it’s off my list. GM had a 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty until the first CVT came along. That tells you all you need to know.
Get the AWD that comes with an 8-speed. You want the AWD anyway.
Their first CVT GM used was on a 2001 Saturn Vue. 5/100k powertrain changed to 5/60 in 2016 model year. I think your reasoning might be off. As Dean pointed out opt for an AWD model to get an automatic transmission, problem solved.
I meant Chevrolet. When the Spark received the CVT, the 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty went away.
Well, that looks hideous. Has a real 1990s ‘we don’t know how to design anything’ look.
This is the Equinox trim most people will afford to buy, the only caveat is the CVT in FWD configuration, which may or may not elicit customer resistance.
It will definitely create resistance. When GM switched the Malibu from the 6 speed to the CVT in 2019, that was the beginning of the end of Malibu sales.
I’m sure it’ll be fine. 9/10 people that buy this car probably don’t even know what a cvt is
As usual the prototypes looked better.
When can we spec one out on the website?
I didnt try out the Trax, but I did try the Trailblazer RS, drove it about 3 miles and took it right back.
The back of the Traiblazer made so much noise I thought the tailgate was open, my wife and I were impressed.
I hope the new Equinox is quieter in that regard but still needs a diesel offering 50 MPG like the 2018 and 2019 models.
If you want that diesel, you’ll have to give Stellantis a call and ask them.
Put the 3.0 l diesel in that equinox awd. That’s it they need the 2.0 l 246 hp. 270 two. 8 speed automatic in the mini that’s just as large as the equinox awd. The Nissan rogue 1.5 3cl. Has 201 hp 229 to. COME ON GM GET YOUR ASS GOING. AND WHERE’S YOUR NEW TRUCK V8 THAT YOU SPENT BILLION DOLLARS ON “AT”.
The diesel didn’t sell well at all in the Equinox. Why would they bring it back?
Only 175 horsepower makes me sad.
Let’s see if the new transmission in the AWD, plus any change in gearing/throttle mapping, helps with the sensation of speed.
I still can’t believe they are carrying over the same 1.5L lump from the last gen.
Well I will be trading mines in for the new ;the RS. I like the red one . Beautiful!!!
Looks so dull and lifeless in that boring color. And please tell me the alloy wheels are silver and not boring dull android grey like they are on the new Colorado.
My dealership just received there allocation last Thursday. I ordered a 2025 RS trim, they say they offer 20″ wheels but we were not able to get them. The dealer called their GM rep and he stated they are not available, I was a little bummed with that but super excited to get it. Hopefully by the end of August we will have ours.
I’ll never buy a gm 8 spd again. I bet there are a lot of disappointed 8 spd owners feel the same way. Even if it’s completely different. Only 9spd and 10 for me. I would rather have a 6 spd. I have a 22 Colorado 8spd that supposedly was fixed from previous issues but it’s the worst transmission I have ever driven. Junk
Disappointing! My 2010 normally aspirated dog 2.4 has more horses than the 2025. Come on G.M.
