2025 Cadillac XT5 Drops Platinum Package

GM Authority has learned that the 2025 Cadillac XT5 will no longer offer the Platinum Package, a major optional upgrade previously offered for the 2024 model year. This change is exclusive to the North American-spec 2025 Cadillac XT5, which remains largely unchanged from the preceding 2024 model year, unlike the completely redesigned, second-generation 2025 Cadillac XT5 destined for the Chinese market. Production of the North American 2025 XT5 is scheduled to begin this summer.

The 2025 Cadillac XT5 will not offer the Platinum Package.

Previously, the Platinum Package (RPO code JSE) was available for the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels of the 2024 model-year XT5. The package enhanced the XT5 with a selection of interior and aesthetic upgrades, as well as suspension changes for the Premium Luxury trim level.

Package highlights included (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Semi-Aniline leather seating with Chevron perforated inserts (both rows)
  • Leather-wrapped instrument panel, console and door trim
  • Sueded microfiber headliner
  • Illuminated front door sill plates
  • Front and rear premium carpeted floor mats (RPO code BB4)
  • Real-time damping suspension chassis (RPO code F45) – Premium Luxury only
  • Performance suspension (RPO code FE5) – Premium Luxury Only

Note that the Real-time damping suspension chassis (RPO code F45) and Performance suspension (RPO code FE5) are both included as standard for the Sport trim level. Also note that all other items in the package (with the exception of F45 and FE5) will no longer be available with the launch of the 2025 model year.

Pricing for the Platinum Package was set at $4,850 for the 2024 Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury trim, and $3,650 on the 2024 Cadillac XT5 Sport trim. The package required the addition of the Technology Package (RPO code Y4N) for $2,275 and the Tri-zone automatic climate control (RPO code CJ4) for $1,200. For the Sport trim, an extra $600 was also required for the addition of the 20-inch 12-Spoke Diamond Cut alloy wheels with Dark Android finish pockets (RPO code Q6N). These add-ons increased the total cost of the vehicle significantly, upping the final figure by $8,325 for the Premium Luxury trim and $7,725 for the Sport trim with all the required options added in.

Looking ahead to the 2025 model year, the North American-spec Cadillac XT5 will continue to offer two engine options – the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine and the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGX gasoline engine. The crossover will continue to ride on the GM C1 platform. Production of the 2025 Cadillac XT5 is scheduled to commence in July at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

  1. The story title should have read a lot of Cadillac customers will DROP the Cadillac brand if they don’t offer the revised XT5 to North America.

  4. Without platinum, the standard seats and polystyrene-wrapped steering wheel looks like an overpriced Chevrolet Blazer now.

  5. Does the 2025 XT5 have a CD player? I have a large collection of music and lecture CDs and will NOT consider any luxury vehicle where the manufacturer tries to impose USB/smartphone adaptation on a customer.

  6. I’ve been looking for a ct5 with the 3 litre V6 in any year to be honest and they’re impossible to find and now they don’t even seem to be offering it in the 2025? Do they not understand what people want in a luxury sports car?
