2025 Cadillac Escalade Sport vs. Escalade-V: Let’s Compare The Fascias

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade is poised to debut a model refresh complete with a long list of updates and changes, including a new exterior design. The design overhaul will be applied across the 2025 Cadillac Escalade lineup, with the new Escalade Sport and Escalade-V each showing off its own unique fascia with distinct visual elements. Now, GM Authority is comparing the fascias between these two trim levels.

Looking over spy photos capturing prototype units of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade Sport and 2025 Escalade-V, we find a number of similarities, but a few differences as well. Starting at the top of the fascia, both the Escalade Sport and Escalade-V feature a dominant upper grille with a black mesh design framed by a sleek, black outer ring. This crest-like shape houses the iconic Cadillac badge at its center. The design similarity extends to the integration of vertical lighting on the sides of the fascia, echoing the futuristic style of the all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ.

Differences become more apparent as you shift focus to the lower section of the fascias. The Escalade-V sports a continuation of the upper grille’s black mesh into the lower grille, emphasizing a more performance-oriented aesthetic. This is complemented by the presence of a small but pronounced splitter, enhancing its sporty appeal. By contrast, the Escalade Sport opts for a simpler approach with black horizontal styling bars across its lower grille, omitting the splitter for a cleaner and perhaps more understated look.

Both models place the LiDAR system in the same position within the lower grille. The LiDAR integration is crucial for supporting driver-assistance features, such as enhanced Adaptive Cruise Control.

Other updates anticipated for the 2025 models include interior upgrades with the latest in infotainment technology and connectivity, such as a new pillar-to-pillar infotainment display. Performance-wise, the Escalade-V is expected to once again feature a more powerful engine setup to justify its position at the pinnacle of Cadillac performance SUVs, namely the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine. The 2025 Escalade lineup will also feature new 24-inch wheel options. All Escalade variants ill ride on the GM T1 platform, with production taking place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  1. The new front ends are growing on me. Do you think it would be possible to order the V lower valence/bumper and apply it to the sport edition?

  3. I am not impressed by the long, totally black, (or other body color), side on either model. Previous model years had a bright piece of side trim which broke up the plain body look on a $100,000 SUV. I still prefer the bright spoke wheels and the bright grille from previous years too.
