GM Authority has released a hands-on video tour of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST, going in-depth to cover the all-electric pickup’s exterior features and design. This battery-driven pickup electrifies the legendary Silverado nameplate with GM’s latest Ultium-driven technology. The question now becomes – what’s it look like up close and personal?
First and foremost, this particular example of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST First Edition is finished in Black paint, whereas all the other examples of the Silverado EV RST we’ve seen thus far have been finished in blue. Starting up front, the Silverado EV eliminates the traditional grille and intake, incorporating a sleek, closed front fascia design that enhances aerodynamics. The design is complemented by a full-width light bar and a unique “frunk” (front trunk). The front end also incorporates “High Brow” lighting signatures that serve as the daytime running lights, with the main headlights situated lower in the fascia.
Aerodynamics are boosted further by functional air curtains, aiding in boosting the all-electric range. In the corners, this Silverado EV RST rides on massive 24-inch wheels paired with Michelin Primacy LTX tires. Keyless entry is standard for all four doors. Also notable are the truck’s fixed running boards, plus a set of wheel spats in the rear, above which is an angled sail panel design. The charging port is located on the driver’s side of the vehicle behind the rear tire near the taillight, and includes covers standard and DC fast charging capabilities.
Moving to the rear, we find Chevy’s Multi-Flex tailgate with power lowering functionality.
Beyond the exterior features, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV RST boasts a panoramic fixed glass roof, an 11-inch digital driver information center, and a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. GM’s Super Cruise driver assist technology is standard.
Propulsion is derived from GM’s Ultium batteries and Ultium Drive motor technologies, delivering a formidable 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. Range-per-charge is estimated at 440 miles. The GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings, with production taking place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

Really like the look of this truck but can’t stand the price. Not worth it.
adult toy…too nice to use it as a truck
There could be $7500 coming back to your wallet because it’s an EV…or get the worker one.
Another famous turd from GM. Way to go Chevy for making another flopped vehicle that will never sell!
Don’t like it, don’t buy it. But show some respect for GM’s efforts to offer a different choice to the people with a different thinking. GM cannot let the China products have a competitive advantage in the EV space, especially pickup trucks.
There is room for change / progress in the transportation space and continuing to churn out Chevy Malibu sedans as some posters are asking for, is looking in the past.
It is not practical for what it is supposed to be used for
A large percentage of the pickup trucks on the road are not used for what are they supposed to be used for. So why pick on the EV truck as being less practical. I am not worried that it will not sell. They will not make enough of them to satisfy the demand.
These guys are a bunch of yentas…all they do is cry and criticize, a bunch of barn hens!!!!
Local dealer has 3 of the work trucks. Overall the trucks are ok looking but the interiors are very cheap looking. No way I would pay the $75k they are asking for them. The interiors look more like a $35-40k truck.
I get that feeling on the cheap interiors…to save money
Thanks for the detailed close up look of the new SilverEado truck Alex. Nice looking ride overall. Not a vehicle I would be interested in purchasing though. I own a Chevy Bolt and will be replacing it soon with a gas burner. The electric charging network is woefully lacking, and that makes it a non-starter for me.
The charging infrastructure isn’t woefully lacking. Stop spreading FUD.
As an EV owner for over 10 years, and taking multiple trips across the entire US per year, there’s not really any truth to lacking infrastructure in 2024. Charger density is also rapidly improving, as well as integration with the Tesla network.
Let’s not.
Good to hear from an honest man
Cheap interior equals more profit
Looks just like the Avalanche Chevy use to have and never should have stopped production.
Take that silly EV crap out and put in a modern 6.2 or 5.3, and I’d trade my 2013 Avalanche in for it. Until then, you’ll just be blaming the low sales on the wrong things. Should have never stopped selling the Avalanche, and this should have been a proper revival with a proper ICE.
Get that ICE crap out of your statement. ICE is in the past tense. EV Is the way forward.
So it’s an electric Avalanche. Now that was a great truck! I’d still be driving one if they still made them.
Just what the world needs, another $80,000 so called pickup truck.
I would like to see an off road test done on any stock EV iwould like to know how the battery has held up after roaring through the mud bogs or great bumps on some of the trails our ICE pickups travel
All you GM haters unite. The vehicle isn’t even for sale yet and you all talk like you know everything about it, and yet you know absolutely nothing. Very typical of GM haters.
When the first pictures of the new Chevy EV were shown, it was heavily criticized for the resemblance with the Chevy Avalanche / Honda Ridgeline. Now the Chevy Avalanche is praised for being a great truck. Hard to understand if it is just ignorance, hatred towards GM / Mary Barra or nostalgia about the good old times.
I am not an American but I’m an avid GM Authority fan. However, what I don’t understand about a nation that is supposed to have intelligent people but can’t comprehend what is in front of them. EV haters don’t have the damn common sense to realize, that the more American Automakers develop and perfect EV vehicle technology, the more America will stay with or ahead of China and a very advanced Europe in technology as a whole.
I am amazed that Americans can be so foolish, to follow right-wing extremist Jackass politicians and believe that not developing EVs and staying ahead of the curve is not the best way to go. Furthermore, the more advanced EVs become the more economical it will be to commute generally.
The most critical point is that EV development will reduce the power that OPEC has, thus leaving countries like Iran, Russia, and Saudi Arabia with less power and influence than they currently have. By the way, Chinese EV advancement is a serious threat to American automakers’ survival and economic viability in the future.
Very sensible statements. In reality, there should be no politicizing of EVs at all. It’s a wild thing we are dealing with right now.
Opec is no issue for the US if we produce our own oil. We have proven we have more. Mosts people don’t have anything against EV’s. the issue is pushing them to the point you can’t get a ICE vehicle anymore is stupid. It has nothing to do with CO2. More and more studies have shown CO2 is not high and its not a greenhouse gas. Many people will still want a ICE vehicle and they should have the option. If you have tornado or major power outage you can still with a gas car go and get gas out of the area. You aren’t doing that with a EV once its dead. Saving it saving the planet is a joke. If a company wants to go all EV fine. But forcing them to go all EV is not what the US should be doing.
Ford just cut back (again) production of the Lightning.
It’s a piece of junk!!!!!
Already having drive train issues
