The 2024 GMC Acadia debuts the third generation of the three-row Big Red crossover with an all-new exterior and many other changes, including three new paint colors – Crystal Metallic, Deep Bronze Metallic, and Downpour Metallic – to replace three outgoing hues. Here, GM Authority is zooming in on the Downpour Metallic color’s details.
Designated with color code GXP and touch-up paint code WA-136H, Downpour Metallic is available as one of the 2024 GMC Acadia crossover exterior paint colors that are listed here, and number eight in total (paint codes in parenthesis):
- Ebony Twilight Metallic (GB8)
- Sterling Metallic (GXD)
- Summit White (GAZ)
- Volcanic Red Tintcoat (GNT)
- White Frost Tricoat (G1W)
- Crystal Metallic (GXK – new for 2024)
- Deep Bronze Metallic (GXN – new for 2024)
- Downpour Metallic (GXP – new for 2024)
The Denali trim level is the only trim that can be ordered with Downpour Metallic paint. Since it is exclusive to the Denali, Downpour is not offered on the Elevation or AT4 trims. Priced at $495 extra, it can be ordered in conjunction with either After Dark or Sheer / Very Dark Atmosphere, the two interior colorways available for the Denali.
As a reminder, these are the four interior colorways that are offered on the various trim levels of the 2024 Acadia:
- After Dark
- Forest Storm with Mahogany Accents
- Gideon Gray
- Sheer / Very Dark Atmosphere
The changes to the 2024 GMC Acadia for the third generation begin with a new greenhouse and new exterior styling. Multiple exterior dimensions are larger for the 2024 model year, including the wheelbase – 8.4 inches longer – the vehicle overall – 10.6 inches longer – and its height – 3.2 inches taller. An 80-percent boost to cargo volume rearward of the third row results.
When it comes to the greasy bits, the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine provides the standard and only powerplant choice for the 2024 Acadia. First reported by GM Authority as the new engine for the third-gen vehicle, the LK0 cranks out 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. The GM eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the pavement, via a standard FWD drivetrain or an optional AWD configuration.
The 2024 Acadia uses the GM C1 platform for structure under the skin, while the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan is the production site for the crossover.
