2024 Chevy Traverse Gets New Lakeshore Blue Metallic Color: First Look

Featuring all-new, assertive, truck-like styling, a complete overhaul, and numerous updates, the new third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse drops three paint colors from the nameplate’s lineup while gaining three, specifically Harvest Bronze Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, and Stardust Metallic. We’re looking closely at the Lakeshore Blue color here.

Lakeshore Blue Metallic is identified by color code GXP and touch-up paint number WA-136H. It is one of the eight paint colors in the 2024 Chevy Traverse exterior color palette, which consists of the following:

  • Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
  • Mosaic Black Metallic
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat
  • Sterling Gray Metallic
  • Summit White
  • Harvest Bronze Metallic (new for 2024)
  • Lakeshore Blue Metallic (new for 2024)
  • Stardust Metallic (new for 2024)

All 2024 Chevy Traverse trim levels, including the LS, LT, Z71 and RS trims, can be ordered with Lakeshore Blue Metallic at no additional charge. The color can also be combined with any of the interior colors on offer for the crossover.

As a reminder, the 2024 model year has three available interior colorways, as shown here:

  • Jet Black / Gideon
  • Jet Black with Torch Red accents

Pricing starts at $38,995 for the entry-level LS trim equipped with front-wheel drive, as GM Authority reported in detail earlier. The range-topping RS trim level configured with an all-wheel drivetrain is the most expensive variant of the model, with a starting price of $57,595. A destination freight charge of $1,395 is already factored into these prices.

The 2024 Chevy Traverse is equipped with a single available powerplant, specifically the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine. This engine provides maximum output of 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque and is paired exclusively with the GM eight-speed automatic transmission. FWD is standard and AWD is optional on all trim levels except the rugged, off-road-focused Z71, which equips all-wheel drive as standard.

A revised variant of the long-wheelbase GM C1 platform is found beneath the skin of the 2024 crossover, and features the Global B digital architecture along with other advanced elements. The GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan is the facility that produces the 2024 Chevy Traverse.

  1. This things desperately needs a hybrid paired to the 2.5T optimized for efficiency. GM could’ve moved on that before Hyundai Kia but in under a year the Korean brands will have a Palisade and Telluride 2.5T hybrid

    1. MIKE RR….GM Has No Foresight When It Comes To Hybrids….Toyota Is Eating GM Up!…I Don’t Understand The Mentality Of GM When It Comes Hybrids. Maybe Somebody Here Can Educate Me Because I Am Missing What “”SEEMS”” To Be The Obvious!!!

      1. They foolishly convinced themselves in about 2018 that they could skip HEV and PHEV, except for the corvette. They actually believe the ultimate batteries were SO good, and production would scale up SO fast that it was economically sound. Neither of these two points were true, and they also negated the free market.

It was the epitome of dumb to skip hybrids for such a long time. Now they are rushing them to market and/or bringing in their Chinese hybrids… how do we think this will fair lol? GM needs an executive shuffle and engineers that understand limitations of technology first and not woke agendas. The writing was I no the wall since day one and I will continually repeat myself of this as a GM fan who wants to see better out them, a$$ kissers don’t get us better products.

  3. Love the color! I think it would look even better with a light gray interior color. Hopefully more light interior colors come with the 2025 model

  4. I would like to see a comparison test with a 2023 vs a 2024. I had a loaner 2024 RX350 Lexus while my wife’s RX V6 was being serviced. I didn’t like the turbo 4 as well as the V6. The Traverse is a good size vehicle. I had a 2012. I wonder when you load up the 2024 with people and luggage if the 4 cylinder will do the job. Then you have to wonder that with the 4 in that size vehicle, you will be putting a pretty good strain on the engine most of the time, and wonder about long term reliability.

    1. So a solid bump in HP and a big bump in torque and you wonder if it will be able to do the job of the V6? Hahaha, seriously? The 2.7 has been noted numerous times by engineers who worked and are familiar with the project that that is was one of the hardest engines to kill in durability testing. This 2.5 is based off that motor which has an almost diesel like build to it. There should be zero worries about durability, reliability or power. A little homework goes along way before making incorrect statements… Give me a smaller displacement turbo motor with a bunch more torque over a higher revving NA motor in most cases, especially when it comes to something that needs torque to move around heavier weights.

  5. Ruined a great vehicle. I leased the 2018, 20, 22. The last being the High Country. Was going to try the 2024 but your labor issues caused my lease to run out before they came out so i purchesed the 22. Plus, now the only way to get all the features you have get the RS since they eliminated the Premier and High Country. Not everybody wants the ugly black wheels that come with it. Very shortsighted of GM to limit the access that that.

  6. In 2024 Chevy Traverse, which color is more forgiving when it comes to looking dirty in between car washes? I had a Silver Nissan, and I could go longer in between car washes, compared to my Black Nissan which looks extremely dusty 4-5 days after washing. I wouldn’t know my Silver Nissan was really dirty until after washing it.

I know Black and White are the easiest to get and look dirty.

    – Is Stardust Metallic easy to keep clean / look clean?
    – Lakeshore Blue Metallic?
    – Harvest Bronze Metallic?

    Thank You!
