2024 Chevy Colorado Units Recalled For Being Shipped With The Wrong Tires

General Motors has released a Safety Recall for select examples of the 2024 Chevy Colorado due to an issue with incorrect tires and an inaccurate tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

The problem: affected trucks may have a condition where the incorrect tire was installed and doesn’t match the pickup’s tire label. In addition, the TPMS doesn’t provide accurate information for the improper tires.

The hazards: If the tire doesn’t match the label, owners may choose the wrong tire size when purchasing a replacement. Additionally, the TPMS may not give a timely warning if the tire pressure drops below more than 25 percent of the recommended cold inflation pressure.

The fix: Certified GM technicians will be instructed to inspect affected vehicles and install the correct tires as necessary, which will allow the TPMS to generate accurate information. Notably, this process should take techs roughly 1.2 hours to complete.

Affected components: Tires

Affected vehicles:

Number of affected vehicles: According to General Motors, only 56 units are affected by this recall. It’s worth noting that a stop-delivery order is now in effect for new or used vehicles in dealer inventory, meaning those units can’t be delivered to customers until the fix is applied.

  1. It’s funny how this is a safety issue when back in the day we mounted whatever would fit the rims and fit under the wheel wells. If we wanted different sized rims that meant a trip to the junk yard. In my younger days a got tired at the junk yard if they were better than what I had. I ran used tires for many years. Young people today just shake their heads at how we lived 40-50 years ago.

    1. drink water from a garden hose, ride a bicycle without a helmet, ride in car with no seatbelt, ride in bed of a pickup truck as it goes down the highway. We should all be dead.

  2. Too bad they puthey sh!t tires like Bridgestone Duellers on straight from the factory. Would rather have Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on Colorado/Canyon straight from the factory but it’s just GM being cheap and cutting corners again..
