We Render A Potential 2026 Chevy Corvette Interior Redesign

Originally dropping in for the 2020 model year, the mid-engine Corvette C8 is due for a refresh in conjunction with the 2026 model year, with one of the most impactful updates expected to be an overhauled interior. Per previous GM Authority coverage, the new cockpit is anticipated to bring with it both design changes and new tech features. Now, GM Authority has rendered what the refreshed 2026 Chevy Corvette interior may look like.

Interior rendering of the refreshed 2026 Chevy Corvette.

Our exclusive GM Authority rendering showcases a variety of changes for the C8 Corvette, integrating futuristic elements seen in other GM models, including the Cadillac Lyriq. The most striking feature is a curved dash panel, which merges the digital driving instrument cluster with the infotainment system touchscreen into a single horizontally oriented layout.

Our rendering also reduces clutter on the center console by eliminating the wall of buttons in place on the pre-refresh model, reflecting a broader industry trend towards cleaner, more integrated interiors. To that end, most of the controls have been incorporated into the touchscreen, making for a sleeker interface.

Another significant update in our 2026 Chevy Corvette interior rendering is the relocation of the wireless phone charger. Previously situated in the rear waterfall element, the charger is now in a more accessible location under the touchscreen. Our refreshed interior also includes GM’s semi-autonomous driver assist system, Super Cruise, as indicated by a light-up stripe indicator along the upper edge of the steering wheel.

While enthusiasts may be eager to see these updates in the upcoming C8 Corvette ZR1, it’s important to note that the new ZR1, expected to debut this summer for the 2025 model year, is unlikely to feature the refreshed 2026 Chevy Corvette interior design. The C8 Corvette refresh was originally expected to debut for the 2025 model year, but is now expected for the 2026 model year.

  1. All functions from the screen? I hate that. What if screen goes out. No power? You have to swipe through pages to get to function to select. I prefer buttons and Knobs. The cockpit is like that in fighter Jet in U.S. Air Force. 1 driver. Big change….☹️

  2. The old version so much cooler with all the buttons on the side going up the console . The new one is way too corporate and the corvette has always had custom interiors.

  3. If the buttons are removed, why leave a bare fin between driver and passenger?

    1. Agreed, the chief complaint with the current design with the wall has been that it creates additional physical separation between the driver and passenger, while cool and functional, does go a bit against the mission of this being a chick magnet. Perhaps a new kneepad/grab handle design on either side of the transmission tunnel with a few well placed critical controls on top could be an improvement on this idea. Love the Lyriq screen in this render but it’s 2024, have you seen our competition? Why can’t we throw the wall to wall screen out of the 2025 Escalade EV or similar in this piece? Congrats to Tadge retiring, by the way, going out with a bang; Bravo!!”

  4. GM hasn’t done a mid cycle refresh on the Vette since the C4, and only b/c it was around for 12 years. I doubt they do much but we’ll see.

  7. GM is capping the production of E-Rays for 2024. It’s surprising that despite the upcoming release of the ZR1 alongside the E-Ray in 2025, GM hasn’t planned an interior refresh for that year. It would be frustrating to purchase a 2025 E-Ray or ZR1 only to see the interior updated the following year. Given that the Zora is set to launch in 2026 and there’s only one Corvette production line, it seems likely that this is why the refresh is being postponed.

    1. There is no confirmation that ZR1 is a 2025 model year. It is just being announced in summer of 2024.

    2. I doubt there will ever be a Zora

  9. The current interior does need updating IMO. I can only hope some power upgrades and supercruise are included in the 2026 refresh.

  10. The car is for driver involvement even as it have a automatic, no manual that will need a interior change for stick movement…

  11. The current interior is fine, except for the ugly steering wheel. I would change that in a heartbeat if I were to purchase his car.

  12. Never cared for the horizontal button row or the lack of left to right symmetry. So moving in the right direction. Horizontal surfaces just catch a bunch of dust and crap and are harder to use. Buttons are better than drilling down in a screen for common items

  13. The cockpit was designed as in a Air Force cockpit. I’m ex U.S. Air Force

  14. They need to change the pattern on the GT2 seats, The comp seats, imo, look much better. I would also like to see the white interior replaced with a medium gray with the dipped option.
