Last month, the Texas Motorplex played host to TX2K24, with a wide range of domestic and import speed machines battling it out for quarter-mile supremacy. One of the fastest machines on track was this turbo LS-powered Chevy S10 driven by Nick Cole-Mann of Sussex, Wisconsin. Now, we’re watching as this high-powered Chevy S10 leaves some of the fiercest competitors trailing in its wake in the following brief drag racing video.
At the heart of this beastly Chevy S10 lies a 427 cubic-inch LS-based engine stuffed with boost from two massive turbochargers, a potent combination that propels the S10 with an estimated 2,200 to 2,500 horsepower. Back in 2021, GM Authority profiled this vehicle when it was already making waves with a 402ci Dart block LS, yielding 1,751 horsepower. At the time, Cole-Mann was setting records as the fastest LS stick-shift car in existence. However, since 2021, the S10 has undergone significant upgrades in terms of power and performance, marking a clear evolution in its capabilities.
Incredibly, this Chevy S10 still utilizes a stick-shift transmission, making it a formidable competitor in the Stick Shift Challenge class. Over the course of last month’s event in Texas, the S10 recorded a quarter-mile time of 6.810 seconds at 212 mph against the “Grubb Worm” Chevy Camaro‘s 6.843 seconds at 214 mph. Another highlight was a run against the Toyota “Grannas” Supra, where the S10 blazed through with a time of 6.779 seconds as the Supra struggled with traction issues.
Despite an unfortunate red light penalty that placed it second in the official rankings, the S10’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, achieving a best ET of 6.879 seconds and a trap speed high of 215.45 mph.

Reminds me of back in the 1990’s when people put 350s in Chevy Luvs.
