Super Cruise Now Available In 15 GM Nameplates

General Motors’ Super Cruise is a semi-autonomous driver assist feature that allows drivers to remove their hands from the steering wheel during extended periods of highway driving on certain roads. The technology debuted on the 2018 Cadillac CT6 and has since been gradually introduced to numerous vehicles in The General’s portfolio, and as of Q1 2024, Super Cruise is officially available in 15 nameplates in the GM family.

During GM’s Q1 2024 earnings presentation, the automaker reiterated that Super Cruise is available in certain Buick, Cadillac, Chevy and GMC models currently offered in the U.S. market.

Specifically, the following 15 nameplates currently featuring Super Cruise technology.

Looking ahead, several more vehicles – all three of them EVs – will feature Super Cruise as they are introduced throughout the 2024 calendar year, including the Chevy Equinox EV, the Cadillac Optiq and Cadillac Escalade IQ. That’ll bring the total up to 18 vehicles with Super Cruise, and while that’s no small number, it is a bit short of GM’s initial rollout plan. Back in 2020, the automaker announced intent to include its semi-autonomous driver assist feature in 22 vehicles by the end of 2023.

As GM Authority previously reported back in June 2022, the midcycle refresh for the 2024 Cadillac XT4 was expected to bring Super Cruise, although the feature wasn’t available at launch, and it’s not clear when (or if) it will be added to the luxury crossover. The same goes for the 2024 Buick Envision, which was also expected to feature Super Cruise, although this vehicle will not get the technology at all – at least not for 2024. The Chevy Bolt EUV offered Super Cruise as an option, but the electric crossover is no longer in production.

  2. I don’t understand why they keep delaying the more broad rollout of super cruise. We aren’t really experiencing the same chip shortage we were 2 years ago, so I doubt it is because of a supply chain constraint. Case in point–the 2024 envision. Why would they decided that it wouldn’t get super cruise?! And if you DO have super cruise available in a vehicle like the Sierra, why not make it available on trims other than Denali???

  3. Make it optional so those who don’t want it don’t have to pay for it. This can be dangerous and lead to distracted driving.

  4. I have it on my car and that is only because I got it used from my father-in-law. It’s absolutely not worth the $2000+ extra cost and a subscription once the 3 year trial runs out. It’s just a glorified adaptive cruise. Yes, it keeps the car centered in the lane. But, since I still have to pay attention, it doesn’t really make the drive much more relaxing. Until Super Cruise progresses to the point where I can safely fall asleep behind the wheel, I’m not interested in paying extra for it.

  5. GM Super Cruise is a poor cousin to Ford and Lincoln BlueCruise. GM LKA (Lane Keeping Assist) works only above 37 MPG. I cannot figure any reason for such limiting GM car design. That limit was the reason why I got rid of a Cadi and purchased a Lincoln. Lincoln LKA works at any speed above 0 MPG. Unfortunately, it seems that GM second class engineers have a lot to learn from Ford’s.

    1. Not many GM vehicles achieve more than 37 MPG.

      1. Oops. I did mean speed – Miles Per Hour, not MPG. But the point still remains valid. GM is purposely, for no good reason crippling their LKA feature.

    2. You must be misinformed, super cruise works at speeds of I know 80 MPH. It will change lanes automatically and everything. Nothing like adaptive cruise control.

  6. None of GM vehicles with lane keep assist keep it in the centre of the lane. Wonders from line to line and jerks back away from the line.
I drove a Hyundai from a rental company while my traverse was being repaired and it stayed dead centre of the lane. Even going around curves.
I think this will be a deal breaker on my next purchase!

  7. The super cruise can’t keep up with me, it’s only good is you run the speed limits. So, it’s just a joke to me.
