Anticipation for the Cadillac Lyriq-V is growing, with fans eagerly awaiting the official debut of Caddy’s upcoming high-performance EV crossover. That said, it appears as though one fan simply couldn’t wait, with GM Authority recently spotting a Cadillac Lyriq 450E in South Florida wearing a V-Series badge. And while we can appreciate the enthusiasm, this sort of personal badge-engineering is something of a taboo among car enthusiasts.
As we can see here, this single-motor Lyriq is flaunting a V-Series badge on the rear hatch, likely in an attempt to mimic the aesthetics and implied performance of the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq-V. Unfortunately, this phenomenon isn’t new, and in fact, it’s not uncommon for some enthusiasts to resort to adding high-performance badges to standard models just like this Lyriq owner, a testament to the allure of models like Caddy’s V-Series lineup.
The real Cadillac Lyriq-V, however, promises to deliver substantially more than just a badge. The forthcoming high-performance all-electric crossover will feature more power than its less-potent Lyriq AWD counterpart, and with the Lyriq AWD already pushing 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, sprinting to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, the Lyriq-V should be quite impressive indeed.
Further separating the Lyriq-V from the non-V iterations will be enhanced driving dynamics and suspension, plus more aggressive styling and even possibly two optional appearance packages.
GM Authority has followed the development of the new Cadillac Lyriq-V for quite some time now. Way back in April of 2021, GM Authority was the first to report that General Motors was considering the release of a new high-performance Lyriq variant, while since then, we’ve spotted a V-Series variant for the Lyriq listed at the Cadillac accessories website and we’ve spied what is believed to be a prototype unit of the new Lyriq-V, adding to a growing list of exclusive GM Authority details.
As always, we’ll be there when the real thing finally hits the road, so subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac Lyriq news, Cadillac news, GM electric vehicle news, GM business news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

The worst case of “up-badging” that I ever saw was at a car show several years ago.
A guy pulled in with an early 2000’s Mustang which he had installed a full SVT Cobra body kit (2003-2004 Terminator), wheels, etc.. Upon a quick look, it was clearly a V6 Mustang and even had an automatic transmission (all Terminators were 6-speed manuals). He refused to pop the hood and even took off his hat and placed it over the auto shifter.
To me, it is beyond embarrassing, but to each their own.
Well I guess I can put SS Badges on my Equinox 2.0t lol! NOT Chevy will probably never make an equinox ss and people behind me will have a great laugh!
Hell I had an HHR SS turbo and when I ran even with a Mustang GT the guy could only ask what did you do to that? I was sitting on 300 HP in that 2.0
Yeah but your HHR SS was REAL you didn’t put poser badges on it.
I wonder how close the AWD Lyriq with velocity upgrade will be to the LyriqV?
