Registrations Open for Hendrick Driven For Veterans Talladega Fundraiser

This Memorial Day weekend, racing fans will have an opportunity to wheel their own personal car around the Talladega Superspeedway as part of a fundraising event to support military veterans. Playing host is Hendrick Driven for Veterans, previously known as Vettes4Vets, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those who served our country. The annual fundraiser event will take place May 25th, 2024, with all proceeds supporting various veteran causes.

Chevy Corvette models lined up at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Located in Lincoln, Alabama, Talladega Superspeedway is renowned for its high banks and challenging tri-oval track. For a registration fee of $110, participants can take their own vehicles for a spin on the track, circling the iconic Superspeedway for five laps. While the event has a strong Corvette heritage, all types of vehicles are welcome to run the course. Each five-lap session around the Talladega Superspeedway is designed to be exhilarating, while keeping within the limits of safe speeds. Roughly 15 cars participate in each session.

Festivities kick off on Friday, May 24th with a Show and Shine event at Hendrick Hoover Automall in Hoover, Alabama. Between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., attendees can admire a stunning array of cars, enjoy complimentary food, and engage with the local community, including a special appearance by the city’s mayor.

Since its inception, Hendrick Driven for Veterans (formerly Vettes4Vets) has raised over $350,000 for veteran-related causes. The non-profit aims to assist veterans, current military personnel, and family members of veterans. This year’s event will be staffed by volunteers, including folks from the Team Corvette Alabama car club. Last year’s event raised more than $30,000.

To register for the event, visit the Hendrick Driven for Veterans website and secure your spot to drive around Talladega Superspeedway this Memorial Day weekend. Those interested can even sign up for multiple sessions, if so desired.

  1. I wonder how fast you will be allowed to go ? Sometimes you just get to brag you drove it, not that you topped out .
    The price is right.

  2. I can only handle about 20 to 30 minutes of sustained high speed driving. I thought it would be easier, but at the Corvette Owners School I was not able to manage more than a few laps at a time. It takes lots of concentration.

    1. Was that at the Ron Fellows School in Nevada? I am heading there in June.
