Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers Now Available For Chevy Colorado ZR2

Owners looking to upgrade their 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 for even more off-road worthiness can now order the Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers (RPO code ULV) through the Chevrolet Accessories catalog. This upgrade was previously reserved for the Colorado ZR2 Bison Edition, but is now accessible for all 2024-and-newer Colorado ZR2 models. Pricing for the new suspension bits is set at $2,795.

The Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers for the Chevy Colorado ZR2.

The Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers are engineered to provide greater suspension stability, particularly in extreme off-road conditions. Designed for both off-road racing and rock crawling, these dampers improve the vehicle’s ability to absorb shocks and bumps, ensuring a smoother ride and better control. The dampers create a secondary suspension effect through the use of nitrogen-charged bump shocks, boosting compression damping and controlling rebound, while also providing smoother bottom-out protection.

Found on the Chevrolet Accessories website, the Jounce Control Dampers kit is designed specifically to pair with the Multimatic DSSV shocks, featuring front and rear bolt-on systems, crossmember, front damper spacer, and all required fasteners. Notably, the suspension bits provide 29.1mm of front shock travel and 76.2mm of rear shock travel, and even provide a slight 12mm vehicle lift. The frame on the 2024 model-year-and-up Chevy Colorado ZR2 and GMC Canyon AT4X already includes the required mounting brackets. The Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison equips these dampers as standard equipment.

Notably, the same suspension performance upgrades are also available for the GMC Canyon AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition, though they come with a slightly lower price tag of $2,595 when selected as an LPO-level (dealer-installed) option via the 2024 GMC Canyon configurator. To be clear, these dampers are not included with the AT4X AEV Edition package (RPO code XEV).

As a reminder, the Chevy Colorado ZR2 is equipped as standard with the 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax engine, which is rated at 310 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 430 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm. The updated 31XX-2 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.
