Lingenfelter Supercharged Chevy Corvette E-Ray Makes 734 WHP: Video

The C8 Corvette E-Ray offers impressive performance right out of the box thanks to a hybrid powertrain and all-wheel-drive grip. Even so, those folks looking to upgrade their E-Ray for even more oomph are somewhat limited when it comes to mods. Now, however, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is looking to address that gap with a new E-Ray supercharger upgrade.

Thanks in part to a collaborative effort with Paragon Performance, Lingenfelter has successfully integrated a supercharger system with the C8 Corvette E-Ray’s 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine. Paired with the E-Ray’s electric front drive system, the result is an impressive 734 wheel-horsepower at 5,670 rpm and 792 wheel-torque at 3,770 rpm, marking a 28-percent increase in horsepower and 25-percent rise in torque over baseline figures.

The integration process was not without its challenges. The E-Ray’s unique configuration, which combines internal combustion and a front-mounted electric motor, posed potential unknown hurdles in terms of functionality across all systems post-modification. However, Lingenfelter and Paragon meticulously outlined objectives to ensure that the vehicle’s performance enhancements did not compromise any of the electric vehicle systems, which were to function as smoothly as before the upgrades.

Key to the success of this modification was the expertise of Trifecta Performance, which specializes in electronics and calibration for modern vehicles, particularly those using GM’s Global B electronic architecture like the C8 Corvette E-Ray. Their pioneering work in tuning the C8 Corvette played a crucial role in adapting the supercharger to work seamlessly with the E-Ray’s sophisticated systems.

Beyond the power output, the supercharged E-Ray also demonstrated impressive performance figures during preliminary track testing, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in two seconds flat.
