Quite a few of Kyle Busch’s 66 Truck Series wins have been earned at Texas Motor Speedway, and he put yet another trophy in his case at the 1.5-mile racetrack on April 12th, 2024, getting across the line first in the No. 7 NASCAR Chevy Silverado RST.
Busch’s sixth victory at Texas in the Truck Series puts him right on par with Todd Bodine in the division – and he’s won the last four times he’s raced at the track. Overall, across all three of NASCAR’s premiere divisions, Busch now has 20 wins at Texas, including four in the Cup Series and 10 in the Xfinity Series.
The No. 7 NASCAR Chevy truck certainly saw its fair share of clean air on Friday, as Busch led 112 of 267 laps, sweeping both stages before going on to take the checkers. But that’s not to say it was an easy win. Busch found himself under heavy pressure from the field, particularly from the No. 11 Toyota TRD Tundra of Corey Heim, who stayed right in his tire tracks on his way to the checkered flag.
“Corey [Heim] kept us honest right there,” Busch said. “He started to find that top over there and got some momentum over there with three to go. I chattered really bad, so my front just wasn’t working over there… he made it and got to my rear bumper getting into [turn] three and I just didn’t know which way to go so I ran the middle then to the bottom and then he slipped up top and I guess we had enough of a gap after that.”
Heim ultimately finished second, followed by the No. 2 Silverado of Nick Sanchez, the No. 19 Silverado of Christian Eckes, while the No. 91 Silverado of Zane Smith rounded out the top five. Eckes now has the championship lead.

What’s he doing still driving in a feeder series ?
He doesn’t need to take the prize away from the people that can’t afford to run cup. It ridiculous I think. Or any one running Cup Series.
I believe, if I’m not mistaken, that when he sold his Truck racing team that he is contractually obligated to face in certain Truck races.
Thanks , I should have known there would be sponsorship obligations. I like watching the other series of racing. Drivers I know little about, shorter race . Hardly anyone in the stands watching.
Very good racing
You’re welcome. Yes, the truck racing is exciting. Younger drivers trying to stand out. Make a name for themselves and move up to the next series. So they push it.
