As the third model year of Cadillac‘s all-electric luxury crossover, the 2025 Lyriq will only receive minor updates for the upcoming model year. Now, GM Authority has learned when the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq production is expected to officially kick off.
The start of regular production (SORP) date for the 2025 Lyriq is currently scheduled to commence on September 9th, 2024. Of course, this date is tentative and subject to change at any time.
In other Lyriq-related news, the high-performance Lyriq-V has yet to debut officially. GM Authority has been covering this upcoming Lyriq variant since Global Cadillac Vice President Rory Harvey hinted that a Lyriq-V was under consideration way back in 2021. So far, nothing has been unveiled yet.
Since then, details surrounding the high-performance EV crossover have been minimal at best. However, GM Authority did notice the presence of a “V” trim level on the Cadillac Accessories website last year. Hopefully, the Lyriq-V will make its long-awaited debut soon.
As far as the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq is concerned, specifications aren’t expected to change much. To that end, the Lyriq RWD will feature a single motor mounted on the rear axle and develop 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the Lyriq AWD will be equipped with a pair of electric motors – one on each axle – and produce a combined 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Both models will utilize GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motors technologies.
It’s worth noting that the Lyriq-V is expected to turn out roughly 550 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque.
Regarding range figures, the current 2024 Lyriq RWD variant boasts 314 miles on a full charge, while the AWD version features 307 miles on a full charge.
Under the body panels, the first-generation Lyriq rides on the GM BEV3 platform, while production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

Any information on CarPlay compatibility? That seems to be the biggest question mark, aside from the V version.
I’d consider CCS or NACS a bigger question mark, personally.
I believe that is the huge change ; that is, from CCS1 to NACS fast charging standard.
If they produced a hybird I would buy a 2025 Cadillac Lyriq
Ed, GM does not make a “hybird”.
Not yet
I’d love a Lyriq, but I’m holding out ’til ’25 for news on the following (no particular order):
(1)new interior/exterior color choices
(2)NACS charging port built-in
(3)Heads-up display — will the augmented reality nav be offered, too?
(4)Taking the “junky” feeling out of the center armrest infotainment controller. It’s laughable how cheap it feels as a primary point of interface for the owner with the vehicle when the rest of the vehicle is so premium and beautifully executed.
Agreed!! How did they produce a car in this market without a HUD (and for that matter with no night-vision as an option??) Also curious if they could do 4-wheel steering with this chassis; it really is great at reducing turning radius and high speed cornering.
I want to order a 2025 Lyrick. When will that be available.
