Built for rugged off-road excitement, the 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 trim level is getting a mid-cycle refresh along with the rest of the 2025 Yukon trims, as part of The General’s program of using the upcoming model year to update its full-size SUVs across its lineup.
GM Authority has been giving you the inside scoop on the many features and updates the 2025 GMC Yukon will offer, and now, we have a batch of fresh spy shots to satisfy your curiosity about the Yukon’s AT4 trim.
The images our spy photographers captured give you a camo-free look at the refreshed Yukon AT4, sporting Onyx Black (color code GBA) exterior paint and highlighting the exterior changes to be expected for 2025.
The 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 leads with a front end equipped with a grille that boasts a different finish than the Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels. This follows the design approach of the current 2024 model, which also wears several grille designs across the lineup. Its trim-specific bumper offers a superior approach angle, and red tow hooks – an AT4 characteristic – are also clearly visible. The SUV, like all trim levels, features C-shaped LED headlights similar to those on the next-generation 2024 GMC Acadia.
The side profile reveals that the 2025 Yukon AT4 rides on 20-inch alloy rollers with a machined finish. Its wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires, appropriate to its role of conquering rutted, muddy, or stony trails and cross-country obstacles. AT4 badging appears on the doors, which are equipped with body-colored handles. The mirrors are also body-colored with an integrated turn signal.
At the rear, the new Yukon AT4 shows C-shaped lighting signatures matching those at the front, and the expected AT4 badging. Notably, it displays quad square exhaust tips which are different than the bumper-integrated chrome bezels on the Denali and Denali Ultimate trims.
GM Authority has brought you previous spy images of the 2025 GMC Yukon Denali and the Yukon Denali Ultimate, along with an earlier view of a camo-wrapped AT4. GMC published its own teaser of the refreshed 2025 sport-utility focused on the headlight and grille.
The cockpit will feature a pair of giant screens, including a 15-inch infotainment display and an 11-inch driver information screen, like those equipped in the GMC Sierra EV and 2024 GMC Acadia. The steering column mounts a Digital Precision Shifter (DPS) and the SUV features a new steering wheel, too. The screen layout is the same for all trim levels.
Motivation for the 2025 model year will likely come from the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 and 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engines carried over from the pre-refresh model, while the current 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel is expected to be ousted by the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine.
Structure for the 2025 Yukon will continue to be provided by the GM T1 platform with production taking place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

I really prefer the exterior of the older generation. This one seems too sleek. The boxier headlamps on the current model look much more muscular and just better overall in my opinion.
so, are they moving to the three tier like the other models, so the base will be elevation?
I really hope that the flat section of the lower grille is for adaptive cruise control. The shape and size is different than the Denali bumper. Makes me think that this generation AT4 also does not include adaptive cruise.
$75,000 starting price and it doesn’t have adaptive cruise control???? Shameful!!!
Chevy Trax at $25,000 has adaptive cruise control. WHAT A JOKE GM!!!!!!!!
It has ACC.
Wow, talking about spouting off on something you have zero clue about. How about just ask instead of bashing like a little kid? They do have ACC, they have it now, they will have it here. Calm down…
TMI, Adaptive Cruise Control is *NOT* available on the 2024 AT4 trim. Do your homework.
Those headlights are hideous! They should have made the lens go all the way to the top of the LED turn signal light. Like the 1500 trucks. The gap between looks goofy.
Starting prices of these behemoths are getting out of control….yet people will still pay it and finance it to the longest term possible
totally agree on both counts.
Those headlamps look so bad. They should be connected to the top portion of the DRL. The gap is so weird. Looks like another GMC without amber rear signals…
For most for most part im ok with it though think the current generation AT4 and Chevy Z71 front end looks much nicer. I hate that silver trim paint on the lower front end that goes around the red hooks – either paint it black or match the rest of bumper/trim color of the vehicle – same for Z71. I also hope that they come with nicer looking standard wheels than those standard wheels on the current AT4/Z71 and these are not a $3000 option. When will we see interior/exterior color options?
Its nice to see an AT4 with the 3.0L. I also like the fact that its getting quad exhaust tips.
But does it still eat cams and lifters?
That’s my big question for all GM trucks and SUV’s. Do the 2023 onward models equipped with 5.3L and 6.2L engines continue to have a higher than normal lifters and pushrod issues? I still see lots of comments from folks with 2022 and prior but I’m curious about 2023+. Anyone know or have reliable info?
No changes that I’m aware of.
everyone in this comment section clearly doesnt have class
