The 2025 GMC Yukon will introduce a mid-cycle refresh complete with a long list of updates and changes, including significantly revised exterior styling. The General offered a glimpse of the new looks yesterday, providing us with a taste of the headlights and grille design on the 2025 GMC Yukon AT4. Now, however, GM Authority has secured spy images that showcase the updated 2025 GMC Yukon Denali in full, front to back.
Starting up front, the refreshed 2025 GMC Yukon Denali flaunts a redesigned grille with a larger, more-intricate pattern and bright polished trim, a staple of the Denali sub-brand. Accompanying the new grille is a set of revamped C-shaped headlights, as previewed in the recent teaser. Additional exterior updates include a reworked lower bumper adorned with new fog lights and further polished trim elements.
On the sides, the 2025 Yukon Denali shows off a sophisticated wheel design with polished spokes and prominent Denali badging on the doors. Polished trim around the windows and silver roof rails add to the sleek profile of the SUV.
The rear end isn’t left behind in this design overhaul, showing a redesigned lower bumper with integrated exhaust trim that underscores the vehicle’s refined aesthetics. The Denali badge is now placed up top above the license plate, while the Yukon badge is once again located in the bottom corner of the hatch. We also see familiar C-shaped taillights that extend into the hatch.
Inside, the 2025 GMC Yukon Denali is expected to mirror the tech specs of other recent GM models, including the Sierra EV and 2024 GMC Acadia. Spy shots suggest the interior will sport two large screens, likely including a 15-inch infotainment display and an 11-inch driver information screen.
Engine options for the refreshed Yukon will continue with the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine and the 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine. The 2025 model year is also expected to introduce the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine to the lineup, which will replace the outgoing 3.0L I6 LM2 Duramax.
The 2025 GMC Yukon Denali will continue production at the GM Arlington plant in Texas, with the GM T1 platform providing the foundational architecture. GM will also launch the Yukon in new global markets for the 2025-model-year rollout, such as Australia, New Zealand, and China.

There’s no denying that the full sizers look pretty classy overall. They have over several generations now with their Denali trim. Those new headlights will “normalize” to me quickly, I’m sure, but I really liked the previous ones. They looked more rugged. I feel like these headlights are meant to look futuristic just for the sake of it while the rest of the car looks pretty much the same. The front of this Denali looks similar to the Escalade front clip shots we saw yesterday. I’m sure they’ll sell a ton to people with a lot more money than me. We were happy buying a used 2019 SLT and it still looks good!
Way too boxy.
As a current Yukon Denali owner, I think this looks meh. Interested in seeing what the new interior looks like.
Those 1.57 kids come with alot of stuff (toys, etc.), friends, classmates, and teammates. Plus there are the occasional family events that come up. All of that often requires a large vehicle.
The interior will likely be what you see in the Sierra Denali EV
At first glance, my mind saw ‘FORD’ repeated in the grille pattern
Nearly the same here, except for me it spelled “LOBO”.
I miss the old polished punch-plate grilles. Those were a Denali staple in the early gens
They should’ve left it alone. Another platform hits in 28, they’ve changed infotainment to similar of the BEV & they haven’t even got the software right. It’s time to make these 100K vehicles worth the money. The rear looks cheap as they still don’t have body color matched bottom. They put the reflectors up in grated into the body. The nane plates look lost. The front lights are too busy. The interior I’d the highlight
I am not sure who is buy these things. Last I check Americans are having 1.57 kids per married adults. Why on the planet, unless you have five kids, would you want this, at at the price. I only know one person with five kids, they make 100k a year, but can’t afford this ride, so… Humm, you have five kids, a 100k ride does not make sense for MOST people. A mini van makes the most sense. But still, I would like to know, the demographics of the people that buy these things.
A mini van is built more like a car compared to this or a Nissan Patrol.
Drive one & you’ll know why. The number of kids doesn’t matter. If you want a full size SUV with a V8 & rear wheel drive, this is it. And in the unfortunate event of an accident, I would rather have my family in one of these than an Equinox.
It isn’t a requirement to have kids to drive and enjoy a Yukon Denali. Many of us enjoy the power of the V8, cargo space, and wonderful ride.
As for this article, I’m so happy I got my 2024 Yukon Denali Reserve before the 2025 version goes into production. I don’t like the large screen & column shifter, in the revamped interior. I don’t like the new front end design & headlights, rear hatch design, or losing the quad exhaust pipes.
However, I’m sure there will be many people who are excited to get the 2025. I’m just not one of them.
Why do you care? This is the USA and people can buy what they want. I know single people who drive these and Escalades. The Yukon Denali is very classy, comfortable, safe and quiet. Who wouldn’t want one? I have 2 kids and 2 dogs and would love to buy a Yukon Denali but can’t afford it. I also see retired folks in my area driving these (no kids). I say if you can afford the gas and price of these go get one! I always do a double take when I see them on the road because they look so good. The demographics in my area are wealthy couples, retirees, single men and families with kids.
Married w 2 kids. We have 2.
Denali XL.
Married, 2 kids, 1 German Shepherd. Trip to grandma’s house is me and wife front seat, kids in the captains chairs, luggage is on top of the 3rd row folded, dog is in the cargo area. No room for bikes so they’re hitch mounted. Wish they would bring back the Excursion! I don’t how anyone lives with something smaller. Crazy.
The front end looked like the went backwards on this. Not a fan of the new headlights and grille. Still like the 21-23 model years
With the new headlights, the grille is now WAY too big. Heck, it’s larger than the whole rest of the vehicle…almost. And ridiculous.
“Denali” and “Yukon” need to be flipped on the back.
How about simply eliminating both of them for less clutter ? Overdone ! Grille ? Yeah, ridiculous….close to being hideous.
Is it possible to add more blingy badges and chrome lines going in all directions? What a mess, they somehow managed to make the tackiest trim even tackier. It’s the Vegas hooker of cars…the new professional grade. Thankfully they did a nice job on the Suburban.
We have a 2023 Yukon Denali. I find that this one looks a bit less premium. I find that the chrome grill on the previous one (2021-2024) looks more premium. Headlights are nice. But what happened to the exhaust?? Inside the bumper? Not a fan. The rest looks very similar. But for 2025 I prefer the Suburban. I think we’re just going to keep ours for now.
I like the 2025 Tahoe Z71 better it’s much better looking and the interior is similar if you can live without the softest leather I am also not a fan of all this chrome it’s already a look at vehicle…no you can blind someone with the front grill reflecting sun light lol. Then when you have the Cadillac Escalade why bother with this?
What a waste of resources. No improvement in what matters: horsepower, fuel economy, handling, performance, price, etc.
LZ0 is coming
All yours for an out-the-door price of $110,000!!
Looks really good, but hopefully it has the new small block V8s!!
everyone has this same sunken headlight,, everyone,, i hate them,, i won’t be buying any suv’s until someone with some creavity comes up with something appealing,, this is just copycat imagery, and i don’t like it
The headlights need to be smaller. Sarcasm intended. If they make them any smaller they won’t even exist. The ratio of headlight to massive gargantuan oversized grille is almost comical at this point. As will be the price I’m sure. Naturally they didn’t fix the two items that needed attention, the now outdated V8 engines and their lower than competitors MPG.
@Joe Yoeman I agree with on everything except the “outdated V8 engines” wait until the Chrysler/RAM twin turbo V6 blows a turbo Ford has had trouble with twin turbo V6 as well and if you read the news GM is working on updating the small block V8 probably for the new generation of full size trucks and SUVs. I would rather have a hybrid V8 then a twin turbo V6 putting strain on the engine towing and hauling heavy loads. Also people who can afford a $100,000 plus vehicle don’t care about MPG!
Well I was targeting the 5.3 more than the 6.2 but both engines have suffered lifter issues and oil burning over the years and that doesn’t appear to have changed much. Also the 5.3 has had the same power and torque rating since 2014 and has been surpassed by literally every competitor and its MPG ratings seem to keep dropping as time goes by which tells me these engines badly need updating. I’m all in favor of keeping them V8’s and agree the twin turbo engines will probably have issues when they accumulate 100K miles but thing they are well past their prime for updating.
Joe Yoman the lifter issues have been fixed by GM in a recall and it did not affect every single V8 made. and while I agree they are an old design I really don’t feel that the bafoons driving trucks now need much more power it’s already the NASCAR NATIONALS with tailgating, passing on double yellow lines in the snow storm no less, going 85 or 90 in a 65 speed zone. I hate to say this but it seems the more power these pickups and SUVs have the more people abuse it. I think Turbo engines will work in CUVs like the equinox and traverse but not in a pickup that hauls heavy loads and for towing. If anything GM is probably coming out with hybrid V8 that’s what I think anyway.
I am 100% in boat with you , except that the RAM’s design is an I6. Still the I6 is MUCH more complicated than the HEMI V8 that had MDS problems from time to time. Let us see how the new Patrol Y63 Twin turbo is.
There is reason why they did not update their V8s output that much. Toyota’s twin turbo V6 has more power but less reliability at the moment. In all likelihood the V8s will remain the same until 2027 (for the SUVS), and until 2026 for the trucks (so in any case, 10-13 years, which is around the same time that the IFORCE 5.7 3UR-FE was in production, and even IT had expensive problems such as cam tower leaks and timing chain tensioner issues).
The way things are going it is a blessing to still be able to get V8 engines. I have had a 2019 and now a 2023 Yukon Denali with the 6.2 engines, and I LOVE these trucks. And, keep the electrical drive away from me, gas engines are the way to go.
My only comment that the new fog lights looks cheap comparing to 23.
not at all like the renderings we’ve been showed all year. Very little change, very disappointing. The 2025 Yukon Denial looks dated as it’s the same basic look as the former 2024 body.
