Here’s The 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV Sport Before Its Big Debut

As GM Authority has been extensively covering, the Cadillac Escalade is due for a mid-cycle refresh for the upcoming 2025 model year, headlined by updates to the exterior, interior, and powertrain. Recently, our spy photographers captured photos of a refreshed 2025 Escalade Sport out in public completely undisguised, and now, we’re taking a closer peek at a similarly uncovered 2025 Cadillac Escalade ESV in the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.

This refreshed Escalade Sport is coated in the Black Raven (color code GBA) paint color and outfitted in the Sport trim level. As one might expect, this particular unit boasts a Darth Vader-like demeanor.

Starting with the front end, we spot the revised front fascia that bears a striking resemblance to that of the all-electric Escalade IQ. More specifically, the new lighting arrangement features thin, upper horizontal turn signals and prominent, vertically stacked headlights and daytime running lamps, along with a new dual-level grille design that combines a large trapezoidal upper intake with a slimmer lower piece. Of course, the polished black mesh grille design designates this example as a Sport model.

Moving out back, the rear end of the refreshed Caddy maintains a familiar design in regard to lighting and styling elements, albeit with updated inner taillight cluster graphics.

Fortunately, our photographers were able to capture pictures of the 2025 Escalade’s all-new interior, highlighted by the full-width, pillar-to-pillar infotainment display similar to that of the aforementioned Escalade IQ and uber-luxurious Cadillac Celestiq.

In regard to powertrain specifications, all gasoline engines found in the current 2024 Escalade will carry over into the new model. That being said, the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax is poised to replace the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax. Notably, this example boasts the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine per the 600 badge on the tailgate, aligning with the luxury marque’s torque-based badging conventions.

Under the skin, the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV both ride on variants of the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  1. Not a fan of the license plate appliqué trim. It used to span the entire tailgate. Updated brightwork makes the rear feel stubby.

    1. I wonder if it will even appear on the Sport models. It definitely looks tacked on.

    2. What were they thinking?! The full-width trim piece suited the Escalade so well, it really worked with the modern Cadillac styling and distinguished it from the many other vehicles with this generic style of appliqué. This is change purely for the sake of change.

  2. it has to be a clip on?

  3. Ugh! It looks like whoever designed the Chevy HD truck front end has moved to Cadillac. That’ll be a short career.

  4. If this was in any other color except black, it would only look like an average vehicle. I’m not a fan of black, as it’s so hard to keep clean enough to look good all the time, and it is harder to keep the vehicle cool in summer heat. Did the person who styled the Pontiac Aztec come out of retirement!?!

  5. This looks like someone said we need to do a refresh when there was nothing wrong with the current style and they messed up a good thing.

  6. gm was much better off just giving the Escalade a simple tweak to the grille and a refresh to the Taillights. This move of trying to recapture the look of the 1960’s Era front-end with lowered headlights was not meant for the Escalade at all.

  7. I truly hate that they’re bringing back the chunky chrome block above the license plate.
I was so happy when they go rid of it from the third Generation and created a sleek like right under the rear tailgate window.

either keep it the same with this generation or get rid of it all together.
