Gran Turismo 7 Update Adds 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS: Photos

Gran Turismo 7, the popular racing simulation game, is poised to release a new game update later today, Thursday, April 25th. In the latest 1.46 update, fans of classic American muscle cars are in for a treat, as the iconic 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS 454 will be made available to drive. Known for its raw power and distinctive style, the Chevelle is returning the the Gran Turismo franchise after gracing consoles in previous editions of the game.

The Chevelle SS 454 was featured in a series of image posted to X by the PlayStation Poland feed. It appears as though the account jumped the gun a bit, as the post has since been removed, but not before sharp-eyed fans caught a screenshot of what’s in store. In the images, we see the distinctive four round headlights of the 1970 Chevelle, as well as the SS 454 badge prominently displayed on the front fender. The Chevelle is seen in several different colors, all with black vinyl tops and classic hood and deck stripes. The attention to detail extends to the Cowl Induction hood, completing the picture for fans.

In a since-deleted post by PlayStation Poland, the Chevelle was highlighted alongside other new entries, including like the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo and the Honda / Sony Afeela prototype, bringing a diverse mix of new and old for fans to enjoy. The Chevelle, with its 449-horsepower, 7.4L LS6 V8 engine, contrasts sharply with the futuristic, electric prototypes, offering something for those that prefer gasoline to electrons.

Gran Turismo 7 continues to expand its impressive lineup with this new update, promising to break the 500-car threshold with the latest vehicular additions. Indeed, the list of vehicles has expanded considerably since we listed every GM car in Gran Turismo 7 back in 2022.

Look for the new update to hit consoles today.
