GM recently announced that it will expand the Company Vehicle Operations program to include a selection of the automaker’s newest Ultium-based electric vehicles (EVs) for eligible employees. This initiative is part of GM’s broader strategy to promote an all-electric future and provides employees with firsthand experience of The General’s latest battery-driven vehicles. Some of the models offered in the expanded initiative include the Cadillac Lyriq, Chevy Blazer EV, Chevy Equinox EV, and GMC Hummer EV, among others slated for future release.
Per a report from Detroit Free Press, which cites a government filing, the Company Vehicle Operations program allows senior management to choose their preferred company-owned vehicles, promoting internal familiarity and endorsement of General Motors products. Managers below the senior level are provided with assigned vehicles.
It’s unclear if the expanded program includes both salaried and hourly workers, but General Motors did indicate that the automaker would like to “ensure that more GM employees are able to experience the benefits of an all-electric lifestyle,” adding that the experience should be “as seamless as possible.”
To support the transition to electric vehicles, General Motors is offering comprehensive support for employees, including a complimentary Level 2 PowerUp home charger to keep the company vehicle topped off, as well as a one-time credit for the installation of a Level 2 charger. In addition, employees will receive reimbursements for other home charging expenses over time. According to the Detroit Free Press report, a Level 2 charger in Michigan can cost between $300 and $1,200, depending on the features included with the charger, while charger installation can cost between $600 and $1,200.
This approach reflects General Motors’ goal to bring EV ownership to the masses. That obviously includes GM employees, who will receive the tools and experiences necessary to advocate for and contribute to the automaker’s “Everybody In” vision for the automotive future.

I guess they have to flush these turds somehow.
I hope GM gets it wright on these EV s this is gonna be a big test for them , hope they go back to the R & D program its saves alot of heart aches on the consumers and GM s reputation depends on it !
When they go broke again, you will just loose your stock and the government will prop them up again.
Smart move on GM to do this. The more people are exposed to driving and living with EV’s, the less apprehension they will feel towards them. I wish GM luck with their EV’s.
Can’t sell them so they may as well give to their employees.
